I have always had rabbits indoors....freely roaming around. They are potty trained, and use the potty without problems. They DO NOT smell.......rabbits are very clean animals that pride themselves in grooming. The only time they would start smelling is if I did not clean their litter box every other day. Rabbit urine is strong.......their poop does not at all. Do no listen to the other people on this answer board that say they smell! I would just warn this....rabbit chew and chew and chew! If you do not take the proper precautions, you will have ruined furniture, bedding, and ANY electrical wires around the house. Be SURE you want to take on this responsibility. After all, a responsible pet owner signs on for the life of the animal. Good luck!

They are actually more suitable for indoors than a cat or dog. You don't have to worry about a rabbit making noise. A rabbit can be kept in a cage or it can be allowed to roam free like a cat and trained to use a nestbox. I'd recommend keeping the rabbit caged up except when you are home.

If the rabbit is kept in a wire cage with wire flooring and a pan beneath it. Powdered lime can be used to keep down the odor and several companies make sprays that will keep downt he odor. The pan is also very easy to clean, just dump it out. You can also put ground up corn cobs in the pan and that will help keep down the odor. Ground up corn cobs are very absorbant and will keep the smell down.

The only bad part about taking care of a rabbit compared to a cat or dog is if you let them loose in the house you have to treat the furniture legs and electrical chords with tobasco sauce or bitter apple to keep them from chewing them.

rabbits are fun pets and often become violent when placed outdoors, It will only be smelly and dirty if you don't properly clean it, The cage wont be hard to clean, i use newspaper and paper towel, and also cedar chips to help the smell, rabbits usually clean themselves and just require nail clippings, you should clean the cage about every other day and use clorox cleanup in the bottom once a week.

Yes rabbits do stink...but doesnt everything? When i had my rabbit it would only stink too bad if i had forgotten to clean its cage...if you dont want it to stink up your house the best solution is to clean its cage at least once a week...or you could always keep it outside...but if you are stuck on getting an indoor animal and dont want a stinky one i suggest getting a dwarf hamster....they dont stink if you clean there cage and they are very cute and fun....they also dont cost very much money to have.

It will only be smelly and dirty if you don't clean it. The maintenance is not a difficult job if you have an inside cage.

I know some people who let their rabbit roam free in their house. They have to clean up after it frequently but its not hard to clean rabbit poop. If you keep it in a large cage and clean it frequently it shouldn't be a problem. Check with local rescue shelters to adopt a rabbit.

Rabbits are smelly i have a rabbit and my parents won't keep it indoor because of all its poop but if you want your rabbit to live longer and happier you should keep it indoor so it will live longer and that it won't get lost outside.

they poop A LOT. like every time u check on them they will smell even worse. i suggest not getting a rabbit if ure worried about the smell, but instead a parakeet or something of the sort. they dont smell as bad and are even easier to clean.
