I set a mouse trap cause my grandmother told me to and went to see if it had killed any mice and instead found the mouse still alive, somehow the trap snapped on his lower half just above the legs and now his lower half cannot move, but still crawls around well with the front ones. I feel very bad about this (dont like setting traps in the first place). Right now its in a shoe box, i dont know what to do with it. I'm sure its in a lot of pain probably but i dont want to just leave it outside like that. Not sure if it could live much longer, tho it seems very alive right now. Any ideas?

Well, i feel the same way, i hate seeing animals in pain. I know people see rats and mouses as dirty, but if i were in your shoes i would just let it go outside, theres not much you could do now. I would bring it to the vet, but like you said, you dont know what could be done, or how much longer it can live. So yea, let it be and bring it out side. Let it die on its own.

Mice dont live very long anyway, so dont feel too bad, but you must put it out of it's misery because it's spine has been crushed, and it will never get better. Be brave, and wack it on the head with a brick.

Horrible. It won't live long in this condition - either crush its skull with a house brick, or if you can't do that take it to a vet and they'll put it to sleep. You've just discovered why traditional mousetraps are a lousy idea - this is what usually happens with them. End its suffering.

if you dont think it is going to live much longer take it outside and finish it off. i hate doing that but think of how the mouse feels, wouldnt you want the pain to end?

Im not sure but i hear people say that mice can recover from most illness and injurys, I would try to feed it and keep it alive hoping it will recover soon.
