Rabbit spray pee at other rabbits and other animals as a form self protection or a deterrent. I used to watch my dog chase our rabbit, and the rabbit would kick up his feet and spray pee right in my dogs eyes. It works and the dog stopped chasing. Your one rabbit may not like the other. The fact that they are two boys says it all. It is not a good idea to keep two bucks together. As they mature they will fight, and some fight to the death. Male rabbits are very territorial. This is not a joke. My rabbits were both male as well. We had to find a new home for one as they tried to kill each other as they got older.

Some male rabbits do that when they get excited or their hormones get going. When I had Checkered Giants, they would do that whenever we'd put them out on the running table to excercise them. Checkered Giants are a running breed and need excercised. Also, many Checkered Giant rabbit breeders breed their rabbits on the running table instead of in the pen and the buck will tend to fling urine when he gets excited. Normally, you have to watch for this when they go to turn around. A good Checkered Giant judge knows to stand back when judging Checkered Giants. The first reason is because you can't get a good overal view of them from a foot or two away and the second is because if they don't they are likely to get urinated on.

I recommend putting the two in pens where they can't see each other or putting a solid divider between the two. Also, after you separate the two from being across each other, try seeing if it is just one of them that is causing it or if both are doing it. It could all possibly be the result of one rabbit. If the one rabbit does have a solid cage wall, he could be urinating on it then rubbing agaist the wall and getting not only the other rabbit dirty but himself dirty as well.

If you are considering using either of these two rabbits as herd animals for show rabbits, I would strongly recommend not using either one if they are urinating on each other. This is a genetic trait more than anything. And if you use a buck that urinates on other rabbits, he will pass that trait down to all of his offspring and eventually basically your entire herd will have that trait. Cleaning one or two rabbits is bad enough, but when it gets to where the entire herd of bucks is doing it that is not good at all. I have New Zealand Whites and I used to have Florida Whites and every single buck that would urinate on other rabbits ALWAYS passed that trait down to 100% of their male offspring. I won't keep a rabbit that does that for a herd rabbit no matter how good of a show rabbit they are. And if they do that, they won't probably be that good of a show rabbit because its hard to win at a show with a rabbit that has a stained coat.

Well, when rabbits pee on things theuy are usually marking their territory like a dog would do. I'm preety sure he is just saying that he "owns" the rabbit. He is telling people to stay away. He could also be using it for protection of some sort.
