I am raising crawdads in a 20 gall long aquarium.
1. What is the most appropriate plant to have with them?
2.What is the best food for them? I have been feeding them live meal worms but they stoped eating them, like they are tire of them.
I have tried frozen blood worms too but they seem to be getting uninterested also. Freeze dried biofex worms are uninteresting also. Guppies, minoes, and rosyes are too fast.

I'm going to move my betta from the bowl I got it in to a 1/2 gallon?? tank. I'm scared that it will die because it will have trouble adapting to the new water. The water is pretty dirty in the bowl it's currently in so it will be a good time to change the water while I'm at it. Any tips? Thanks

I'm going to university now and I would like to have a fish (or fishes) to keep me company. But the tank can not be too big, 'cause my room isn't huge. I would also like to have coldwaterfish. So what would you suggest to a beginner as me for tank and kind of fish?

Tank has been set up for 2 weeks before I put the fish in last night. It was swimming around this morning and then an hour a go I found it floating. Are the bubbles on the top of the tank part of a problem?? My son wants a new fish but I do not want another one to die on him.

I answered a question yesterday on "How do i tell if my goldfish is a boy or girl?" and i got mixed up on what i said and now feel a right **** lol. Its actually the males that have breeding stars NOT the females. Also, firstly, sexing young and juvenile goldfish is virtually impossible, you have to wait until the fish reach breeding age (usually one year old). During the breeding season, the following physical features develop:

Males develop breeding tubercles (white pimples) on the gill covers and on the leading edge of the pectoral fins

Females develop a deeper body as they fill with roe (eggs), and have a larger vent (just before the anal fin) than the males

Hope that is of some help to some of you :)

I just set up a 55 gallon tank for African cichlids. I had it running for about 2 weeks before I added two bumble bee cichlids. I know your supposed to add fish gradually. So I put the two bumble bee's in there yesterday night, how long before I can add more fish. The next fish going in are 3 yellow labs, and then later I think some kenyi cichlids. But anyway how much time should I wait until I can add the 3 yellow labs.

The betta my friend gave me was definately abused. The water was so murky that you couldn't see the fish! The water smelled like *beep* and the fish was sick! They overfed it. You know that you are only supposed to feed a betta 2-4 pellets of... pellet food daily? She fed the poor thing 16! This is sickening.

CAN SOMEONE STAND UP FOR FISH ABUSE!!?? THIS IS WRONG! WHO'S WITH ME?????? Tell me a story of abused fish, I'd like to know some more. BUT WHO AGREES THAT IF YOU GET A FISH, YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT??? AND THEY HAD THAT FISH IN DISTILLED WATER!!! DISTILLED??? UGH!!!!!! WHO AGREES ABOUT FISH *NOT* BEING ABUSED??? PEOPLE ARE SOOOOO STUPID THESE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy for them! They are finally able to reside in the same tank. The only problem is, now they are bickering and fighting, and they have been married for less than 5 minutes. I'm wondering if they need marriage counseling, or will their love for each other will prevail? I would hate to see them split up! I know Dora would demand alimony. What should I do?

I have a catfish that has outgrown my tank. It is about 6 - 8 inches and I'd like to know if any retail stores (petland, petco, petsmart etc) actually would accept my fish in exchange for others. Otherwise I'll have to find someone that will take it. Any suggestions or help?

I have one betta male in a five gallon. I live in LA.and the weather is a little warm. I have a 66 gallon with 3 fancy gold fish and the water is always at 76 degrees F without heating. Will my betta be okay without a heater? Since the tank is plastic not glass (Since I live in an earthquake happy city) will a heater melt the plastic?
