nothing other than a betta!!i keep some of my bettas in a 1 gal but you have to do twice weekly water changes, goldfish get way too big and put of more waste and amonia than any other fish, white cloud minnows, neon tetras and any other tetra needs filteration!please dont put anything in the "tank" exept for a betta, actualy dont get a betta, get a plastic fish!if you dont know that tetras and other non labrinth fish need filters than you dont know much about fish.
go with the plastic fish, they come in all colors.

Not a goldfish or a sucker fish-they both get too big. Both get too big. Really, nothing else other than a betta can be kept in a small tank like that, and I personally don't recommend that small for a betta-just my opinion there.

if you have a betta in a 1 gallion anything get him out! Not only is it harmful to them but the amount of water changes you really have to do is insane! Would you put yourself in a dog crate ment for a toy dog? NO! don't put a betta in anything under 2 gallions. No fish should be kept in anything under 2 gallions. If your to damn cheap to buy a 2 gallion tank then you should not have fish. You can get 2.5 gallions at most petsmart for $10.00, go get one!

Goldfish certainly will, they're very hardy for fish. Guppies and tetras might also survive.

I read at aquariumfish.net that you can add white clouds. Also, ghost shrimp and a black mystery snail. I am planning on trying this for my son's birthday.

Probably neon tetras... those realy small fish. Except they'll probably die quickly because they're so small. I don't know, really.

buy a cheap one, when the water gets dirty throw the fish out with it and get a newone, this way you kill it quick & it won't have to suffer because your too cheap to buy a filter system
