She is a Gourami- paradise fish. Sh ehas been with us for almost 4yrs now.She is floating at the top of the tank side ways. But when we tap the take she has TONS OF ENERGY. What wrong? Is she going to be okay? She is not acting like a fish that is going to die. PLEASE NO MEAN ANSWERS.

Are there mini-filters or small heaters that can be used for a one-gallon tank at Petco (or Pets and More)? I need a filter & possibly a heater for my betta's tank. I have a small 2.5 minibow, and at my LPS, not petco, way better, they said I should be able to keep this many fish in a 2.5. What do you guys think? Plus, are they all compatible? And will african dwarf frog tolerate a bit of salt in the water!?

I've noticed a particularly fat goldfish of mine behaving abnormally slow and lethargic. The other goldfish in the outdoor pond seem fine. Could she be pregnant? What behavior indicates pregnancy. I'm unable to look for any dark area on the abdomen. I just want to make sure the fish isn't sick. Ive had outdoor goldfish for about 10 years and most of the fish I have were born in my pond. Any advice?

I have an established 30 gal, one betta, a new plecostamus, a new angel fish, a new red crab (the pet store told me they r peaceful dwellers) and 4 new gold (something) plats..i woke up this morning and 3 of the 4 plats are dead! I had treated the tank about 2 weeks ago for a bacteria, ick and Ive changed the filter..I just dont understand why the fish are dying. Are bettas aggressive?? Help!!

I have a betta in my 2.5 minibow with some other fish, but I got to get him out because he just killed one of my platies yesterday, so what do you suggest I get?? Like a special small betta aquarium or what? I don't want it to be too expensive, just a small good home for him. And with the small ones, how often should you clean them if there's no filter!?

I found a 20 gallon fish tank at a thrift store for $7.99 canadian money. I was wondering if I bought this tank and bought the rest of the requirements for a freshwater aquarium, would it be cheaper than buying a whole set (starter kit) at a pet store of stores like Wal-Mart??

I feed my fish brine shrimp and flake food. And please don't say, "But bettas hate flake food!" because my betta has always loved flake food. Anyways, today I fed him, but he would barely eat! He would eat the flakes and spit them out, and try to eat the brine shrimp but still mostly he spit them out. He doesn't seem as active also. What is wrong with him? Does he just not want his food? Not hungry? Or health issue? Please help!

55 gal it's been set up for 1 year. 1 red oscar 2 black convicts 1 algae eater. 2 - 80 gal filters, 1 air pump, 1 heater. I do regular water and filter cleaning or changes. The fish are fed once a day.All levels the last 2 months have been 0 (amonia,nitrite,nitrate ect..) Petco told me nitrate levels should be high in established aquariums. I've been adding cycle with water changes. Lights are on 8 hours a day. I've tried the clear drops with no success. PH is good and fish seem healthy. In 1 year it was clear for about 2 weeks. Any help is greatly appreciated
