If you want cheap, go with goldfish. Only 50c or so and easy to maintain. If you want lots of fish go with mollies or guppies. They reproduce like rabbits. If you want a "pet" go with oscars or koi. You can pet them and they're really cool. Too many options.....salt or freshwater...etc.

just by a feeder fish they are very cheap and live long if you take care of them I bought one 10 years ago and he is still living but no longer a feeder fish but now a beutiful gigantic goldfish

if you want a big fish then get albino shark(lots of $ though). if you want Small fish, then get mickey mouse platys or guppies.

if u are just getting a bowl a beta is good if you are getting a tank zebra danios are a good starter fish.....hth!
