Yes, you CAN put a betta with other fish, with some exceptions. Never put a male betta with another male betta, of course. Don't put it with a fish that is slow-moving or has long flowing fins or tail; it will bite them. Otherwise, they do okay with most other fishes. I have kept male bettas with goldfish and zebra fish and I don't remember what all else.

Absolutely you can, as long as you don't put it in with another male betta, paradise fish, or fin biting fish like Barbs (tiger). Male bettas may go after fish that look similar to themselves,(long finned, equal size, brilliant coloration). Bettas like plants and space, just because you always see them in small bowls, does'nt mean they like it! It is a beautiful and hardy fish!

NO! betta are loner fish! they don't do well with other fish...most of the time thye will automatically kill the fish, but sometimes they will slowly kill them off, which is worse. Male bettas especially will kill. They are alpha fish and aren't meant to be w/ others.

Betta fish are known as "Fighting Fish". If you put them together with any other fish even another Betta it will kill the other fish.

listed lower than are soe do's and dont's for ya enable me start up with DONT's placed the betta in a tankwith quick-paced water, it is going to ultimately stress and kill the betta. placed any fish that are agressive to any aspect, inclusive of goldfish. they'd do nice for a short at the same time as yet once the goldfish reaches a particular length, they tend to change into nasty and nibble at slower shifting fish consisting of the betta. attempt to stay away from fish which have vast fairly fins like the betta. betta's a jealous creatures. lol. attempt to stay away from sharp decorations that the betta would run into and shred his fins. and the glaring "dont" placed it with yet another betta. DO's attempt to shop him in a tank no more beneficial than a 10 gallon, yet no smaller than a 5 gallon, with a sturdy clear out, without quick-paced currents. if the currents are too good, placed flora in there to help defuse the currents. floating flora are large. in case you come back to a decision to placed fish inthere with him try neons, rummynose tetras, rasboras, silvertip tetras, african dwarf frog, small non aggressive fish. do make certain that the temp does no longer drop lower than seventy 2. anyting decrease is too close to to danger. search for a sturdy water heater. umm i imagine i ran out of innovations, yet neways be careful at the same time as introducing a betta with different fish. it really is type of efficient or miss type of deal. for the reason that bettas are not to any extent further meant to be with different fish. sturdy success and want this helped.

Bettas will go with most other fish since they tolerate a wide variety of water conditions. They can even go with each other if your tank is 30 gallons or bigger (they will have their own territories). Here is a compatibility chart

They don't do well in a community tank.
Usually the filtration system is too hard for them to swim away from and they either get sucked up or swished around too much.
They also get nibbled on. All those pretty fins are irresistable to the other fishies.
If they aren't getting nibbled on, then they are doing the nibbling. The are ferociously territorial and will nip and chase anything that doesn't nip and chase them.
They do OK. I have heard of people having success at it. Try and see.
