Mine is either the black or the yellow :D
also one question, does the colour change the personality? i heard that chocolate labs are more cheeky, though my friend has a yellow and black lab (both r males) and the yellow is so gentle while the black is quite boistrous (a bit too boistrous!!)

My dog is a male border collie kelpie cross and is 1 year old. He is very lively and excitable. He gets regular walks and play times during the day. We live on farm so he has miles to run. During the day we let him outside into his enclosed compound with resonably high walls, but as soon as you open the back door to let him out, he is gone! The main attraction we think is the neighbour's female black lab. He shoots round there whenever he gets the chance. We are finding it incredibly annoying. He won't come back to you, even when he has direct eye contact with you and you call his name or shout 'football' or 'frisbee' or 'biscuit'. He is terrible. We have tried to put wooden posts around the compound to stop him escaping but he broke them and we try everything without making it look like a prison!
PLEASE HELP!

I have a 7 week old Westie. Tonight I was playing with him and I noticed one eye was looking right at me and the other was looking outward...It could be either eye that does this. Is this normal?

I have a miniature Dachshund 10 week old puppy.. every time he eats he throws up, there are times I believe he gets food down cause he has energy play, but overall he throws up more than he should, its every day and almost every meal, then after he is down he keeps trying to eat it and then he just keeps throwing it up, I have taken him to the vet and they say his weight is fine and that the throwing up is normal, what is wrong with my puppy should i get a new vet or force them to look further into this?

I am looking for a breed of dog who is medium to large, not a barker, sheds little, is protective and good with kids. Easy to train and smart would be good to. Does this animal exist?

My boyfriend says that I treat my beagle puppy like a baby. I don't mean to, but I simply adore him!!!! I hug him, give him kisses and rub his belly- but are some of you attached to your puppies like I am? When we are out, I'll worry about him and say "I hope Jaeger is okay" and my boyfriend will say...."He's a dog, he's fine!" I dunno, I see as more than that.

I am talking about cashews, peanuts, walnuts, etc. (for you dirty minded people)

I just got a big bag of this chex mix and it has a bunch of nuts. I really don't like nuts so I have been throwing them away. I thought about giving the dog a couple but I think I read somewhere that they are real bad for dogs. If anyone knows, I was just curious. I haven't given him any just to be safe.

I bought my puppy (about 2 months old, weighs 8 lbs) home on the 26th and took her to the vet the following day with a fecal sample.
The tested showed up that she has Giardia.
Tonight she vommitted some of her meal, but her fecal seems to be fine. The vet put her on a 3 day medication of metronidazole (sp?). It doesn't seem to be effective. I'm worried that it is fatal or extremely severe and my parents would want to give it back to the pet store. The medication is quite expensive too ...

Q:
What would be an effective treatment for giardia?
Is is fatal/severe?
How long does giardia usually last?

I bought my dog a bunch of dog treats that taste like bacon and she doesn't like them, but she likes real bacon. I also bought her some treats that taste like peanut butter. I thought all dogs like peanut butter. My college dorm mate used to tell me stories about ur moms dog LOVING peanut butter. But my dog doesnt like these treats either. Is this strange for a dog? She is a chocolate lab btw. I dont want to waste the treats, how can i make her start liking the peanut butter treats? The bacon ones were cheap, but the pb ones are pricey, and supposedly good for her. What can i do so my dog likes peanut butter?

Hi,
We got this one year old dog ( Mix of poodle and shitzu ). she is a indoor dog. We got her for my daughter, But the problem is she does'nt love my daughter. Whenever we come home she wags her tail in front of me and my wife but not in front of my daughter. We make sure everytime we want to treat the dog we ask our daughter to give her the treat. She wags her tail till she gets the treat and afterwards again she becomes compitative with her. Its been 2 months now that we have the dog. She has also bitten her once. Is there anything we can do ? If the trend continues we may not want the dog.
Please advice.

Thanks..
