I am talking about cashews, peanuts, walnuts, etc. (for you dirty minded people)

I just got a big bag of this chex mix and it has a bunch of nuts. I really don't like nuts so I have been throwing them away. I thought about giving the dog a couple but I think I read somewhere that they are real bad for dogs. If anyone knows, I was just curious. I haven't given him any just to be safe.

Nuts are fine except for Macadamia nuts as they are dangerous. They are rich, so don't give very many. I would worry about the flavoring on the chex mix though. It may be too salty or spicy for them so don't give more than a few.

This is from an article about foods your dog should avoid. The link is to a list of other foods and why they can be harmful to your pup.

"Macadamia nuts should be avoided. In fact most nuts are not good for a dogs health since their high phosporus content is said to lead to bladder stones."

Is your dog allergic to nuts? It is probably best to just toss them out. After all if Fido gets a belly ache in the middle of the night who will get up or clean up?

Peanuts are OK,but throw the other nuts outside for the birds and squirrels. Don't throw them away!

No, I give my dogs a nut occasionally when I'm cooking with them or just eating them.
