I've used everything money can buy. What works best is this:
1)wash with baby shampoo,
2)rinse with tomato juice
3)rinse with water
Repeat as many times as you need. Maybe two or 3 times will get most of it out. The more times you repeat the process, the more smell you will get out.
This works. I've had to do it many times since I live in the country and we have lots of skunks.

1 Bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1 bucket of Water
1 tablespoon of Liquid Dish Soap (Dawn tends to work best)

Mix all ingredients into a bucket. Apply to dog's coat & skin - be sure not to get into eyes as it will sting. Try not to let the dog ingest any either as may cause vomiting. Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. You can repeat if needed. Once finished make sure to discard any remainder of the mixture. NEVER COVER & TRY TO STORE IT. Peroxide & Baking Soda will EXPLODE!! Good Luck! :)

We get calls at the animal hospital i work at asking us this all the time and this is what we tell them to use:
1 part proxide
1 part baking soda
3 parts dish soap
the measure of each part depends on the size of your dog, make it into a really soap lather and let soak on the dog for 3-5 minutes, make sure he doesnt lick it (most wont) the peroxide will make him throw up.

Peanut butter mixed with bananas works....it makes your dog smell like peanut butter....if you don't want that to happen then wash him with regular dog shampoo after the peanut butter for him to smell natural.
