Their dog had been ill for at least the last two years. They are a small family unit and doted on their pet dog. I told my friend I would be there to support her because I know how much they adored him. I have no pets of my own. I really want to help my friend get through this but have no idea what to do or say. Any suggestions please?

The minute I turn my back, she's in the other room chomping on some "treats". Not only is this gross, but I'm sure it can't be good for her.

My roomate regularly leaves the dog in the kennel for 12 or more hours. I can't get him/her to understand that I don't think that's very cool to treat the dog like that. Am I wrong. How long is ok?

My puppy is 7 months old and my cat is 7 years. My dog (not on a daily basis, but often) literally goes into my cat's litter box and eates her 'crap' on the stair case. I think thats just disgusting, but is it normal for a dog to do that??

I have a collie cross and a friend has a german shepard. My dog is really crap with other dogs, she is protective and snaps when confronted. My friends dog is very dosile but does like to play. We would like to be able to get them to get along as we want to dog swap for holidays and that sort of thing. We take them on long walks together but if one sniffs around the other it ends in a fight. Any thoughts really appreciated.

Alright, i have a chihuahua that is 5 months old. Lately he has had awful breath. I know it can be because of a tooth problem and all so no need to tell me to take him to the vet for its his teeth...i know! Ok, well, I was wondering if it could be because he's going through the stage of losing his baby teeth and getting the adult ones. Could that possibly be his awful breaths cause? Again, i know he will have to go to the vet more than likely but i want an idea of what it could be if anyone knows. Serious answers only!

thanks!! 10 pts to the most informative and helpful..(oh and no website links if possible too, unless its absolutely necessary!)

She had a litter the 1st week in May. So I thought it was safe to keep her in the fenced area with a male but she's gotten really fat. Don't tell me to go to the vet. They can't tell until about 2 weeks before the pups are born, using an ultra sound. Don't tell me to have her spayed or I should know the answer already. No rude, stupid answers/comments needed.

My friend just adopted a three year old poodle that was rescued from a puppy mill. The dog has no idea how to play with toys (fetch, etc.) How does she go about teaching the dog to play?
