She had a litter the 1st week in May. So I thought it was safe to keep her in the fenced area with a male but she's gotten really fat. Don't tell me to go to the vet. They can't tell until about 2 weeks before the pups are born, using an ultra sound. Don't tell me to have her spayed or I should know the answer already. No rude, stupid answers/comments needed.

If the litter was whelped in May I don't think it possible for her to be pregnant. Just check the amount of food she's eating per day.

Putting an intact male with a female that isn't spayed can cause her to come into heat, especially if she's close to coming in on her own. Female dogs are like human females, they can get pregnant at any given moment, not all dogs are 6 months on the nose, you needed to keep an eye on her she could've had a slient heat and could be pregnant now.

They will normally come back in 'heat' 6 months after weaning the pups, however, there are exceptions, so keeping her safe is a priority..I wouldn't think she would be far enough in her pregnancy to be showing really 'fat'..Even if she came back in 6 months after the last 'heat'. It is only now 6 months since last season..

maximum canines pass into warmth each and every 6 months regardless of having a clutter or not, so she could have long previous into warmth lower back 6 months after the final warmth cycle. BTW, in case you do not plan on breeding her lower back then it would be healthiest for her to be spayed. Spayed canines have a lots lots decrease prevalence of mammary and different reproductive cancers and characteristic honestly 0 danger of coming up a pyometra. All in charge breeders spay their brood bitches after their final clutter using fact it is greater healthy for the canines.

No they usually come into heat about every 6 mos. "About" being the relative term here. Most dogs come into heat twice a year. That doesn't mean every 6 mos. Having this dog spayed or your other dog neutered are probably your best bet. I hate to say it but "his" advances could cause her to come into heat sooner tahn expected.
