It all depends on the age of the dog. If a puppy you want to leave fresh water and food out for the puppy at all times; except at night if you are kennel training him. If the dog is over six months you may want to feed him once in the morning and once in the evening. I have two Dobie's and I feed them 1 1/2 cup each two times a day, but I feed them Nutra Max which is a really good quality of food and it satisfies them more so than any cheap Wal Mart food. If you feed your dog a cheap dog food you will see that they will want to do only two things in life (eat and shi*) and you will never see them truly satisfied. What you put into your dog is what you get out; so buy a great food and look on the back of the bag it will tell you exactly when and how much to feed your dog. You have the Internet utilize it and look up different dog foods and then make your decision. Hopes this helps K...

If you feed it in small qualties then maybe you should but even if you are feeding it in small qualites...10 times a day is way to much! Dogs can get obsise just like humans.....

puppies should be fed(unless directed other wise by a vet)
6-8weeks-3 to four times a day;choose a puppy diet and check on label to see if it has meat on it, should be first on the label.

after 8weeks- twice a day

3-6months- twice a day( nutriental food)

6-1 year- feed him puppy food for the 1st year,

8- 9 months- food can be reduced down to once a day

2 years-smaller breeds can be switched to adult food when 1year old but bigger breeds should stay on puppy formula until 2 years, or if advised by a vet. Ask you veterinarian to see what he/she thinks.

To feed your dog 10 times a day is way too much. Pretty much you should only feed once or twice a day, or keep a bowl with food so he can eat when he wants.

Your dog is being fed way too much food. If you are not sure how much/when you should feed your dog, go to your vet and ask him because each dog is fed differently and he/she will know since they work w/different size dogs. You usually feed your dog 1-2 times a day!

sounds to me you are over feeding. You should look at the dog food you are feeding and feeding according to the recommendations. If you are unsure, call your vet.

if your dog is full grown, feed once in morning and in evening. leave food dog 30 mins., then pick up. do not let dog free feed. they develope bad eating habbits. this dog must weight 300 lbs. or have worms.

NO! Call your vet as how much food your dog should eat. Give weight and breed of your dog. Overfeeding a dog is not a good thing for his/her health. My dog, which is a beagle, is overweight and she only gets fed once a day. She has access to water at all times. She would eat herself to death. Be careful.

thats 2 much! I leave a bowl of food and water on the floor for my dogs so they can eat whenever they are hungry. but if you do this, make sure she is eating enough and not 2 much!

You should really leave a bowl on the ground and put dog food in it and let them it eat whenever they want because dogs get hungry really fast when they smell/ see anything thats food.
