My puppy is 7 months old and my cat is 7 years. My dog (not on a daily basis, but often) literally goes into my cat's litter box and eates her 'crap' on the stair case. I think thats just disgusting, but is it normal for a dog to do that??

We had a little dog that would go in the backyard and do it for no reason. She had plenty of food and water for some reason though she just needed a little extra "snack". OK I know it's gross but you're gonna have to train him not to do it. When he does it tell him no and pick him up and take him out of the area. If you have a bed put him in it and give him a toy to play with. Maybe this will keep his mind on something else. Good Luck!

heck no this is not normal , but it's just a puppy it's new to the world and does not know anything accept who his/or her parents are when he/she is born. He or she is very courious and wants to discover the world it's werid but a puppy doesn't know. just keep the puppy away from the cats litter box. And give the puppy something that he/she likes to eat so it will keep it's mind off of the cats crap. And on to his good and tasty food.

I am afraid so. Try putting Accent (meat tenderizer) in the cat's food and the dog might not like what comes out of her. I am not sure if the cat will eat it though. It is supposed to help.

It's not normal, but it happens - puppies will also sometimes eat their own poop - ours did when he was 8-9 months old - it was sickening! It would also make him throw up, which was even more disgusting. He grew out of it quickly - thank goodness - we just kept punishing him when we saw him doing it.

Dogs love cat poop. Just don't let him eat litter. My dog did this and puked his guts out. We had to sleep with him to make sure he was okay.

My dog used to do it. Not quite sure why, except if it is the remaining stuff of cat food since dogs love catfood.
