Dogs - August 2006

Of course, all puppies my dogs have, will go to my friends. I have currently 17 friends who want puppies, and I know for a fact that they are all very responsible. Anyways, I have 2 female boxers, one is 2 years, 55 lbs, the other is 2 years, 62 lbs. My cousin has a male boxer who is 3 years, 70 lbs. Do you think it's time to breed them?

A friend of mine went into a local animal shelter that is county ran to see if their dog was picked up by animal control, it ran out from the fenced in back yard because her daughter forgot to put on the latch to the gate before she went bike riding, and she let it out to go to the bathroom. When she got to the shelter she said she was treated like a common criminal and they told her she couldn't get her dog back. She called the sheriffs office and she eventually did get her dog back but they told her that she wasn't allowed back there and that she could never get an animal from them. Her dog is a beautiful dog and is very well cared for.Should she sue them for this? Also is this illegal???

It needs to be safe near a dog's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. So don't go telling me hydrogen peroxide with baking soda, as it's not safe around eyes. My 95 pound dog got sprayed full on in the face, and boy does he and my house reek!

My dog has a rather embarrassing problem. He's been neutered, but gets (disproportionately large) erections on an almost nightly basis. He doesn't "do anything" with it, just stands there looking uncomfortable and sheepish! The vet has done tests and can't find anything wrong. Any ideas gratefully received.

I live in Louisiana... I live in a subdivision where it's really bad. I'm 15 and I walk my dogs on the streets every day. The majority of people who live here are colored, and young kids run the streets unattended. A lot of parents are just as ignorant as their kids, and someone was even killed on this very street before we moved here 2 years ago... My parents are divorced, and my mom tries to make it with her job. My dad never sends us the money he's supposed to, and he owes 11,000 bucks. We've already had trouble with the neighbors a house down from us. They kept trying to start crap, and even called the cops for something really stupid. It was b/c a stray kitten was in her yard and she was yelling at me to get it out b/c it has fleas. She thought it was ours. I ignored her and kept walking. Before that they tried starting some other crap. And then, my friend I was walking with got beat up by some biotch from her school. And today, some idiot guy whisteled at me while I was walking.

We are moving 25 minutes from our work. Right now we live very close so we've always been able to go home for lunch and let the dog outside, etc. He's a yorkie and doesn't hold his bladder very well. I'm worried about him being alone for all these hours, basically 6-5 mon-fri. What do u suggest. We've been thinking about installing a doggie door but since we just got a kitten we are worried that the cat would go out and get lost. Also we live in a very cold climate so wouldn't want cold air coming in from the doggie door. any suggestions?
