Your dog probably is scared cause of the cut to his tail if someone cut your bum would you be hurting and scared of course you would be and for all those who think they know parvo get real some of you never saw a dog with it the dog does not shake and act scared the dog gets very sick and lethargic and won't eat , gets diarrhea, vomits, and amongst other things so please read up before you post anything about parvo...I been a dog breeder & trainer for the blind for 13 years and have seen parvo in some of my pups...well my suggestion anyways is that it is maybe scared from having the haircut or the nick it got on it's tail..Just hold it talk to it and try and calm it down and if anything else take it to the vet..Good Luck..

Probably, he's just scared right now. Give him a day or so. My dog freaks out every so often, he's a little guy, which I assume yours is also. My general belief is, if a dog eats, he's generally ok. If there's no improvement, then take him to the vet to be sure. Vet trips can be pricey, but it's your dog! Even when I'm sick, I wait before I go to the doctor...lol

The fact that his eating and bathroom habits are normal is a good sign. How long ago was he groomed? Will he allow you to gently stroke his tail? Some dogs are more sensitive to new surroundings than others (assuming he was trimmed by a stranger and/or in a location other than your home). Get him lots of extra attention and try to get back into his normal routine as soon as you can. I hope you both feel better soon.

some dogs have issues with attention; movement, being picked up, etc. If your dog has a shakey past, some of his actions could be from this. Infection from the cut could be a factor, but a vet with good canine behavior training would know better.

Ok there is a difference between knicking his tail and cutting it. If it got cut off, then there is no way it accidently got cut off while cutting his hair. But if in fact it did get cut off "by accident" so you say, then he's probably afriad of you! Abuse to animals is a crime. Be careful, or ASPCA will find out!

You should contact your vet...my dog has would shake and he ended up having PARVO which is really dangerous for puppies to have.
It could also be the hair cut...I once read in a magazine that dogs tend to get embarrassed when they get one...so maybe thats his problem
I would still have someone check him/her out.~

did you take the dog to the vet? have them look at the cut. is it healing? ask them if that is the problem from him skaking.
but just for you to know, dogs breath really hard. its summer time and its hot and sticky. so your dog, even if laying down, will breath hard. your dog will seem like its shaking but nothing to be alarmed by. its just breathing hard.

Hide your dog's crack pipe and take it to a psychologist to vent any issues from the past.
