You can get the big bags of dog food at Walmart, also you can try feed stores in your area. Here is a web site with a list of all Ohio feed stores. You can get any animal feed there. Compare prices there and Walmart.
Also, sometimes if you tell them that you have some rescue animals they will donate some food or tell you where you can go to get some donation dog food.
I know this place in New Philiadelphia, Ohio that does things like that.
I think it is wonderful that you are taking the challenge of helping so many in need.
To everyone else I did not hear him say this was a problem for him just that he needed some advice in shopping for the cheapest buys. I commend you for the task you have taken on. Some stores might even put out a collection if you take in some pics or something to give you some help if needed.

I applaud you for rescuing 5 dogs! You have done a very wonderful thing!!!
Many retail stores will sell you ripped bags, dented cans, etc for very cheap. Also, contact the humane society and SPCA in your area as both organizations typically will give you food to feed these dogs on a temporary basis.
Also, alot of grocery stores will give you out dated bags of food that they cannot sell by law. The food is still perfectly good though. I know that Kroger's is a big, big supporter of animals.
One other option is to contact all of the vets in your area, many veterinarian's also will help you out by giving you out dated food. I wish you all the best!!! Good Luck!

I actually run an animal shelter and most of the food that we have is donated to us by Wal-mart. I know many dog rescues and I give them food. Contact your local animal shelter and see if they will give you some. I would but I am not in Ohio.

You are super for rescuing the dogs! They will all need to be checked by a vet and everything to make sure they are healthy and will stay heathy. Maybe contact the ASPCA and see if they can help in any way. Or maybe keep one or 2 dogs and turn the others over the the ASPCA. There may be restrictions in your area as to how many dogs you can have. Good luck with you and your new friends.

Pet supply store chains like Petsmart, Pet supplies plus, etc will sell you their ripped and torn bags for pennies on the dollar. When I was very active in rescue, this was how I purchased and afforded 200-300 pounds of dog food per week. Also your local Humane society may have food they can donate to you since they are often given more than they can use from other companies and donations. Good for you for rescuing! Be careful though, it's easy to get in over your head.

This is a tip I was given so the dog food would last longer and it also keeps the dog in good shape. Perhaps it will help you too. You make chicken broth and add plenty of rice and let it evaporate, till it dries up. Then you mix this rice with the dog food. Some people will change the rice to oatmeal sometimes so the dog won't get bored of it. Good luck in feeding five hungry dogs.

I admire you for rescuing 5 dogs. But when it comes to dog food, "cheap" should not be your main concern.

Though not the highest quality, Purina Dog Chow is relatively inexpensive, and is safe to feed your dog.

Please contact a local shelter to help you place these dogs in good homes.

Again, I admire what you did. But please, if the dog food seems unreasonably inexpensive, that means it is GARBAGE. Though in a pinch, it will alleviate their hunger. But don't settle for cheap, garbage dogfood. Try Purina.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a young lab that eats like crazy. So I go for the best deals, that are still pretty good quality.
Your local Walmart or Sams club will sell 50 pound bags of Purina for $15.

seem right into a raw weight-relief plan first. it really is between the great selections for dogs with hypersensitive reactions. Is he allergic to grain or protein? there are countless grain-loose kibbles on the marketplace. Then interior of those kibbles, there are ones with diverse protein elements. the worry with a homecooked weight-relief plan is that it really is very nearly continuously lacking in mandatory supplements and minerals. raw feeding receives those in, as will correct cost kibble. it really is difficult, yet not not available, to do this with homecooked. i purchase between the most expensive kibbles on the marketplace because my dogs receives diarrhea on something else.
