My nog just got put to sleep about about a half hour ago, he was at the vet on an IV for 36 hours, How much will this cost overall, they had to put him down so figure that in there too. we get charged for all services whether he would have lived or not. Are there any vets out there who know FOR SURE, Or does anyone have any similar experiences? He weighed only 1.5 lbs.

Our dog just started "menstruating". We've had her 3 weeks, (she's a stray) and her veterinary appointment isn't for another 2 weeks (when she will be checked over, vaccinated, and have another appointment made so that she can be spayed.. My question is this:

4 days ago our neighbor's neutered dog got into our yard and mated with her and they were "tied" for at least 10 minutes. (stuck together).. We know for a fact that he is neutered.. What are the chances that she will go through a false pregnancy?? She's starting to act "strange" and her vulva is even more swollen then before but no discharge.. Her nipples seem to be a bit swollen.. How soon will we know? Anyone else have similar experiences?? What should we expect?? if anything..

What diseases could our neighbor's dog get from her?? He's up to date on his vaccines and heart worm meds... His owner made him a vet appointment to have him checked out just in case...

I want to get a dog, but I need to write a persuasive essay first. I need to persuade my mother to get it. I don't really know what dog I want, all I know is that I would like to save a dog from being put down in a dog shelter or pound. I also need help on how much it would cost to go to checkups with a vet. everyone month, how much would food cost, among other things. Please can anyone help?

I have a black Lab, she is about 9 months old. we just moved into an apartment and she is a little big for the place. She won't stay out back where she has a 30 ft stake out cord. the neighbors already complained about her barking, thats the problem. We were going to try to bring her back slowly and work on barking. we tried a mussel but she scratches her nose raw. But the maintenence man said he wanted her, that he had a big back yard for her to run in and he has a couple of kids for her to play with and he has other dogs. We want to keep her because we love her, and we'll have to work on potty training her but what would be best for her. We want her to be happy and not be cramped. Which would be better? Thank you

I switched my dogs food from Iams to this all natural brand called Natural choice. Ever since my dogs poop a lot more. I was told that this Natural Choice would make them actually poop less because it is all natural. There poop isn't diarhhea, it's just really big piles. I switched the foods slowly like you're supposed to. Should I switch back to Iams?

It seems to me there are a lot of people that have pets but are not able to care for them financially or spend enough time training them. Should there be some registration/qualification process to become a pet owner?

We have small children. We have cats. We want a small-mid sized dog breed. WE DO NOT WANT A YAPPER. Meaning, no chihuahuas, min pins, etc. It will get a daily, mid-length walk, but would not have a yard to run around in, would be an indoor dog, but in a rather large house. We don't want something that would require being brushed more than once a week; don't want a high-mainenance coat. My husband does not like the more slender breeds, like italian greyhounds, whippets, etc. Other than that, we're open to suggestions? Any ideas? And please mind the conditions we have, we're after the breed that will suit us best, we want a few opinions. Thanks in advance for the help!

My labrador retreiver is sitting right beside me, and she is growling and barking at me for no reason, she has nothing to bark about, and she is whimpering... she has gas, and she looks bloated a little bit (i can tell because I know her). and, I can say I gave her some food, all of these a little of each, fritos, green ranch dip, nachos, pears, apples, plums, orange juice... OK OK... SHE IS SPOILED... Has this happened to your dog before?? please I need answers fast,

How do you put a price on a beloved pet? Is there a point when a dog is just a dog and it's just too much to spend on an animal.

My dog has bladder stones. 3yrs ago I spent $1000 to have them removed. They are back again and this time in a worse position and will be another $2000 with the likely hood they will come back again. The dog is just 6yrs old. I have the money and it won't bankrupt me or anything but is it too much to spend on a pet?
