Well, before they put him on the IV did they do any blood work to find out what the problem was. Blood work can be expensive, IV kits only cost about 20 dollars, but it is the meds they give that are expensive. You will be charged for 2 days in patient and a charge to put him to sleep. Last year my little dog was in for almost 2 weeks on IV steroids for a spider bite, that gave him some sort of encephalitis he lived just by the grace of God. My bill was over 700. A month or two ago I picked up a little dog that had be hit by a car. People just kept driving by. I picked her up and took her to the vet. They started a IV for shock and dehydration and just watched her, she had brain damage. They really thought she was going to live but took a turn for the worse, had a seizure and died. My bill for that was 105. I'm so sorry for you loss! Many Vets will let you pay them out and they don't complain if you pay what you can every month. Good Luck and God bless.
P.S. I did not notice that he only weighed 1.5 lb. was he a premature pup? If so and they were just trying to get his strength built up, it should not be too much. I'll cross my fingers for you. I'm so sorry.

I am sorry for your loss. If your dog was a member of your family as ours is, then his/her loss will affect you greatly.
The cost for the past 36 hours will depend upon the services the vetrinarian performed. Each procedure, test and drug involves costs to the vet and those costs are billed to the pets owner.
There is a drug used to put your animal down, so that drug test will also be incurred.
I do not think it will involve the number of hours involved unless your pet required constant care.
Similarly, it does not matter what the size of the animal is, unless it is so big that additional staffing is requied to transport or move the sick or injured animal.

I am so sorry. It is impossible to estimate the cost of the vet bills, unless we knew where you are located, what all was done to the dog, etc. It can vary greatly from one area of the country to another. What was the diagnosis? What kind of dog was it? I know that our vet charges less if the dog dies than he would if it had lived.

The vet should have given you an estimate for treatment. It is too difficult to tell you what each vet would charge...there are no set fees from vet to vet. Always get an estimate in writing, including that they will contact you before going over the amount on the estimate. Sorry your pup died. :(

it all depends on what kind of medical care the dog needed while he was there. I had a cat that was terminal and he was there for two days, and with cremation, it was $262. I am sorry for your lose. I know that it's really hard right now. Just remember the good times you had with him, and that will make it a little easier to deal with. Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that. was it a puppy? I'm positive that if you discuss your financial situation with your vet he'll be willing to work out the billing issue with you, maybe give you payment options or lower the cost. Most vets are nice people who love animals and are willing to work with pet owners in order to help the animal out.. Good luck!

I am sorry for your lost ! The charges really depends on your vet. Because they charge for everything. Even to dispose of the corps. Hopefully it wont be that much. I'm guessing like around 450.00.

im not sure anyone can give a good idea of it personally... without knowing what all he had done there, why he was there, all of that stuff, try adding that to get some more probable ideas and outcomes (sorry about your dog by the way)
