Peanut butter is not like gum and can be easily digested. It has good nutrients but it's important realize that it's 80% fat. If you read the label you'll see that one tablespoon has 100 calories and 8 grams of fat. That's almost the same as oil. The rat hair limit someone wrote about is a myth. There are health standards for peanut butter just as there are for any other food, and none of them allow any amount of rat hair.

If that's what the recipe calls for I would tend to believe it's safe for your dog.
After all if it's 5 pounds of lean beef, it sounds like the proportion is right.

butter or oil isnt really harmful. It gives them a very shiny coat. I had a dog who would steal butter off the counter for years. and some show handlers give their dogs oil to improve the look of the coat.

Butter is not good for your dog but vegetable oil is fine - it's good for their skin and coat, most especially in cold winters when the air is very dry.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

No it isn't bad for them, however if fed in large amounts it can cause diarreha and in some dogs excess fats in the diet all at one time can cause pancreatitis.
