I have a year old pillow top mattress and my cocker spaniel got out of his pen and peed on it yesterday! Can I get it out and how?!
I soaked it in Febreeze last night but I'm afraid I'll still be able to smell it later. What can I do?

My dog, Katydid, (boxer/bulldog mix) loves to go out into the lake at our house...every time she does, a few hours after getting out, the parts of her body that were in the water are very red and swollen...it almost looks like a rash of somekind. She doesn't scratch at it, but she does "clean" the areas a lot (very slowly). She acts as though it maybe stings, or is sore, but not really itchy. It doesn't seem to spread to other areas. The obvious response is to keep her out of the lake, but what I am really looking for is...Has anyone else had this problem? What could be in the water that would cause it (Other dogs that get in seem just fine)? Are there any type of skin problems particular to her breed that may be associated? Or maybe a deficiency that makes her succeptible? Beyond keeping her from something she loves to do, does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this (I don't really need common sense answers such as taking her to the vet)? Thanks, in advance, for your time.

In this muggy heat, swarms of flies are hovering over my dog's head and biting his ears and nose. I can't leave him inside when I'm at work all day. Is there anything that can be done for the poor fellow?

I just paid $54. to get Advantage for my Lab and its not working. She still has fleas. I have seen them. I have also bathed her in Adam's flea shampoo(which has worked great on other dogs I've had) but none came off. Now what?
PS. I bathed her before I put the advantage on her and she has not had a bath since.

and it's fairly solid when he goes. we tapewormed/all other worms too a couple days ago so should this help the bloating? he eats well, for his size, and he runs around and plays, but he's very young, too??????? i don't know..i put a call in to the vet and he hasn't called back yet, so i was just seeing what others think. thanks for your answers!
btw: i see a lot of questions asking why all these people who know nothing about dogs post questions like mine...well, i have had dogs all my life, i've just always been fortunate enough to have healthy dogs, and haven't had a lot of experience with sick ones. so that's my two cents on that...just for those who may criticize. thanks again

What I want to know is if any normal street or wilderness dog can learn obedience to an acceptable degree, it doesn't have to be champion on those "best Dog Shows". Also, even if there may not guaranteed, have this happend before?; It maybe puppies better, or perhaps the majority of properly trained dogs are more "houseborn, house raised", but that is not what's important in my question- what's important is the answer about the likelyhood that it may happend ( Can it happend, could it be that a street dog become acceptably trained, even if the number of these dogs is less than the number of dogs that are well trained that are already house pets; In other words, can it happend with proper training or is it almost always nearly impossible to train an adult untrained dog to behave acceptably well, and it requires a miracle?); Also, ignore which method should be used, as long if there is a method and not simply a matter of absolute luck without the possibility of Human influences. Thanks
