if u have ever watched the show "dog whisperer" the dog acts that way becuz u let her get away with it. the dog does this in act of stress and to much energy, walking your dog more and putting her in controle and make her know ur the pack leader. dont baby your dog, and instead of saying "no" "stop" "dont" make the sound "shhtt" quickly and sharply. dogs respond to that quicker and actually stop what they are doing and sit. if u controle her and when ur parents come home keep her on a leash and show her jumping on them is not correct she will eventually get that bad habbit out. good luck!

Start working with your dog to correct it's behavior problems. Puppies will be puppies, but at 8 months old, this dog should already know NOT to jump on people and scratch and bite even in play. That's not the way a dog should be greeting people. I know it's playful and funny, but it's a behavior that needs to be stopped. Obedience training would be a really good idea. Kicking the dog is not obedience training however!

Well your parents are probably getting older, they don't have the strength energy or patience anymore to deal with an energetic dog like yours. If it "attacks" them when they come, keep your dog in a cage or pen or outside until you can come home to take care of him. Make sure your dog gets lots of exercise and attention from you when you are home, so he's tired and satisfied during the rest of the day. Get you and your dog some obedience training -- any dog, no matter how playful, should learn not to jump up and bite people. If you're living in their house, you need to abide by their wishes... so do as much as you can to calm your dog down or keep it out of their way.

Your mom hates the fact that your dog is ill mannered most like she does not hate the dog just the way she acts.
You need to work with the dog and train her how to behave better and how to properly greet people.
Your mom should work with her also but that most likely will not happen.
Dogs respond best if everyone in the family works some on training with them. Most times that does not happen and only one person will train. It works but takes longer and when the person who doesn't work with the dog is around the dog Will take advantage and jump on the person.
Either get involved and train with your pet or keep her away from mom when she comes home until she calms down or you can control her better.

I had the same problem with my dog. What did I do? I ask everyone to completely ignore him. Do not say or do anything to the dog and soon he/she will learn that jumping or anything else he/she does to get Ur attention is not working, so, he/she will eventually CALM DOWN. Have a lot of patience though...it's just a puppy!!
Good luck to U and Ur dog.

You need to teach your dog manners, and boundries. You also could tie the dog up while your mother is around. The more your dog understands that people don't want to get jumped on, licked, bit or whatever the happier you, your dog and your mother will be.

I'd suggest obedience school.
Yes, she's hyper, but she sounds like she wants to please people, and she just doesn't know how.
Your mom is annoyed with your dog's manners. If you show her the acceptable way to behave, more people will be happy to see her when she's around. Both your mom and your dog will benefit, and your mom will be impressed with the way you've taught your dog some discipline.

It sounds like she needs puppy training in a serious way. Mans Best Friend is a group down here in "my neck of the woods". If they don't operate where you are, you might want to check with one of the big chain pet stores in your area like PetsMart. They will be able to tell you of a local place, or may even be able to help you themselves. Even the nice folks at your local animal shelter might know.
