The rottweiler has the strongest bite of the breeds. I saw a show about it on NGC and they tested 3 of the strongest dogs with the "bite meter". The Rott, Pit, and GSD. The Rott had the strongest bite at around 320. The GS was 2nd and the pit was last...

u dont need a dog with a great bite. u need a companion that will protect u. i had a rottweiler and she didnt bite anyone. she pinched the people who were messing with me and if that didnt work(always did) she'd pinch harder. i have a rot box mix and he is the most gentlest thing ever. until we have him in the car or on the leash he growls at everyone near me or anyone of my family he protects us. to get the dog with the strongest bite u have to train any dog to be such. nothing else will matter. but for ur safty please dont train any dog to be so aggressive.

Pit bulls, dogo argentino, Staffordshire terriers, and Rottweilers all have very strong bites and are bred for such.

Not sure where this is leading - I will trust it is just idle curiousity. Anyway, it is a breed most of the 'he-man' dog owners will dispute, but this is straight from the veterinarians I used to work for: Scottish Terriers. Yes, the cute & shaggy Scottie!

It depends of what breed/mix they are, and what kind of condition they are in.
