I have a siberian. They are not an easy breed to own. She is very independent and won't obey every comman (though she knows them). We used to have a malamute-mix and she was also very sweet. You have to watch them and never let them off leash. Big difference is size, 50# siberian vs 90# malamute.

Huskies are prone to suffer from wanderlust. Mallies are quite a bit bigger, stronger and more fun I think...as a past owner and possibly a owner in the future I'd go for mallies every time. Huskies are overrated.

Definitely a husky. I've found malamutes to be more aggressive.

I don't think either---I would say get a Yellow Lab American style==these are great animals--very good with people and excellent with children--will also keep you amused==fantastic animals

I would say neither, unless you have a lot of experience with them. They are stubborn, not generally as "eager to please" as most family dogs, and meant for serious dog trainers who can handle them. How about a lab, or a mixed breed dog?

I think both are really nice pets. But if you live somewhere hot, they are miserable.
