It means he is sick. Give him some mineral oil half an hour before you walk him. Buy a new bag of dog food. Have him de-wormed etc.

I moved when my dogs turned 1 1/2. I think that moving was more of an adjustment than I, and maybe you realized. Life was disrupted a bit, and you may not be acting exactly the same yourself. All of this has likely been stressful and his body is reacting. I think after he gets with the life pattern again, his bowels will settle. I had to retrain everything except that when I moved. They tested me on every behavior rule. Good luck.

Well it would depend on the consistency of the poop, if he is having loose stools then he may be nervous, has a parasite load or any number of other things that need to be dealt with differently. If they look like "normal" poop then maybe he needs to be RE-housebroken. I would suggest crating him while you aren't there. I would also suggest getting the carpets cleaned really well to help with the smell.

Dogs will mark their territory even when they are housebroken. You might get a crate and put him in the crate letting him out only to eat; drink; go outside; and for positive interaction with you. Give it time; he will get over the new environment.

take him to the vet. it could be the change of address. it could be that another dog was there before and he is just trying to mark his territory now that he is there.
or it could be something such as a problem with his system that a vet needs to check out.
id take him to the vet and if he checks out ok, then id really steam clean the carpets with something that takes out the odors that we cant smell that dogs can so he will stop trying to mark his territory.
you might want to start taking him out more. mine go more than 3 times a day.

My dog did the same friggin thing! I moved into a new place & before I'd leave my place he would do his business outside...I'd come back & the place would be a crap & pee disaster! It took him about 3 months & a lot of that spary stuff that gets rid of the dog smell. & I bought a little kiddie pool, filled it with sand & a patch of grass, that also helped. So if you have room for that...it'll help.

Just because he was housebroke at the old house, doesn't mean he is housebroke at the new house...every time my husband and I moved, and his mom brought over her dog, the dog would go in my new house...it only took a few times of reinforcing the housebreaking behavior to get the problem under control.
Good luck

My neighbor's dog wouldn't go to the bathroom unless they took the dog on a walk. If the dog wasn't taken on a walk, she would go to the bathroom in the house. So, maybe you could walk your dog a little more frequently. Hope it works, and good luck !

if he is really old and his temperment has changed he could be starting to get too old and you might want to take him to the vet but you might not hacve to put him down soon if thats the case, my dog just died a few weeks ago and he started pooping everywhere anout a year before we had to put him down. if hes not old then its most likely he's just confused
