I have only really started looking into this recently... these issues mean a lot to me and I would like to help. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, maybe some of you out there are already on a roll fighting these causes and can point me in the direction of where I can help. Who to write to, what to do, etc.

I just got "Samson" last night. He let me hold him last night and I loved on him to ease his fear. Now this morning, he won't come out of his box. He growls at me if i get too close. Now I feel bad. Should I just give him his space and let him get accustom to our family? I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing for him.

I have had him for about 2.5 weeks. And he still makes a mess on the way to the door and pees when I carry him. I take him out every 2-3 hours and his poop schedule is not set yet...Any ideas?

i've heard great things. I've done my reading- there are always glowing reviews. There is this note however- they will rule you if you let them. so how difficult is it to be the master of the "king of toys"?

Normally around bedtime or calm down time Snook (my dog) will lay down and suck one of his toys.Ex. he has a stuffed mouse that he will hold on to and suck.and sometimes I'm laying on the couch and he will suck my thumb and fall asleep.I know it's weird but is it normal.I think it's cute.but thats just me. I have pics of him doing this but I dont know how to link them on here.

I asked a question earlier. I asked how many hours it was healthy for a dog to stay in their kennel. Everyone wrote me back asking if it was a kennel or a small crate. Im sorry for the confusion. I mean a small crate. Thanks for all the help!

I have a really friendly basset hound and i just adopted another 2 year old mongrel who's coming home on Saturday and i'm afraid they won't get on even though they're both friendly yet both male. Does anyone know of any ways to introduce them to each other or how to treat each one so they don't get jealous?

in florida, dogs get tiny little fleas, we spray them with vinegar and citric juice, works but not totally, do not want to use chemicals.

My 4 year old Alaskan Malamute was such a good dog. She loved her family and our friends, as long as they were older that 14. She wasn't too fond of small children. About three months ago, she got a weird skin condition where her skin was flaky and her coat started to fall out. She also had a horrible smell. I thought it might be coat funk, a skin condition that Arctic breeds can get. I took her to the vet and he prescribed a medicated shampoo and Prednisone. Shortly afterward, I noticed behavior problems with the dog. She started growling at people. At first it was only strangers who came over, then it escalated to the family. The vet said that rarely, Prednisone could make a dog aggressive and that we should wean her off of it. We did. But she never got better, only worse. It got to the point that she was snarling and growling at my 8 year old. We had no choice but to put her down. We knew no one would adopt her. We loved her so much. Should the vet have warned me?

I am planning on getting a Pomeranian soon, and I was wondering if there are any good breeders in or around Corinth Mississippi. Corinth is in the Northeast part of Mississippi.

Thanks in advance!
