Laws to shut down mills and BYBs will also affect us. Look at PAWS for example. When those numbers drop, and the ARs are already talking about it, we will ALL need to build outside kennels and raise ours in concrete runs.
You should join the yahoo group petlaw. Don't expect alot of support for more restrictive dog laws, but you will learn there. It sounds like you are straddling the fence by wanting to fight BSL but at the same time wanting more restrictive dog laws.

I love your train of thought - one cause at a time, bit by bit. Can you offer some specifics - does anyone have access to copies of the laws governing breeding and selling animals? Or some success stories on how you managed to shut a place down?
I feel that taking away the public's support of puppy mills may be the right way to go. Trying to use the law might be slow going and lots of fighting back from the mills, naturally. Educating the public might have more effect.
Perhaps if everyone wrote an editorial to their local newspaper concerning puppy mills and the facts about them, that might get some awareness out there.
