It feels good. Or there is something stinky there. I hope it's the first one though. My dog will roll in the grass when he is in a good mood, then I "beat" him (I kind of pat his back, like a massage) and he rolls more. I think it's just a kind of back rub that they can do.

It's a way of massaging and scratching their backs, they also do in in the dirt. (sometimes right after receiving a bath! lol). It's a joy to see my dogs twist about on the grass with all four feet up--they're having a good ole time.
