Not just things on the ground, but she pulls things off of their beds and goes into the closets to get their shoes (and mine).

Help!

She will outgrow this stage. In the meantime, make sure that she has things that are meant for her to chew. I found a great website, petextras.com They have healthy, all natural things for a chew monster (the dog I have now was just like yours, even chewed holes in the walls). I recommend the antlerz (naturally shed deer antler), ocean chews (dried sting ray tail), and the bull sticks. These are all extremely tough chews. It took my dog 2 days to eat one of the antlerz, and the jumbo ocean chew took her 3 (she actually got tired of chewing!).

Also, try keeping doors closed. I know it is hard with kids.

Why is a nine-month-old puppy loose in your house unsupervised!!
you have to train your dog to leave your stuff alone! They're not born knowing what not to touch.
First, keep him in a dog crate anytime you can't supervise him - not because he's bad, but the same way you'd use a playpen with a baby. Keep him on a leash at all times and tie the end to your belt so you can supervise and train him. Keep only two dog toys out at any one time. If a dog has too many toys, he will think that everything loose in the house belongs to him. You need to teach him that everything loose in the house belongs to YOU.

Show him one item that he usually steals or chews up - if he tries to take it, tell him "NO!" and give him a jerk on the leash. Then take him to his dog toy, get him all excited and tell him "GOOD BOY!" when he takes his toy. Practice this every day with items that he is and isn't supposed to have. When he is perfect, you can drop the leash and let him drag it around - but keep him confined to the room that you are in, so you can keep an eye on him and correct him if he makes a mistake.

When he tries to grab your hand, do NOT pull away - that makes it a game for him. Use your OTHER hand to jerk the leash and tell him "no." Then give him a dog toy instead. Also, teach him to sit and be nice when he comes up to you - BEFORE you pet him. Make sure he's only being rewarded for good behavior!

Read some great books on training.
(Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com

Puppies chew. Its what they do. They are teething and their gums need stimulation. Get a rawhide chewy for her to chew on and she'll soon leave your shoes alone. The absolute best thing you can do is to find an old leather glove to play with her. Let her chew on your hand and fingers while wearing the glove. Very good for both you and her, great bonding. Just keep your shoes and other things out of reach if you don't want them chewed up. Enjoy.

P.S. After reading some of the other responses to your question, I wanted to add that you should never muzzle your puppy just because she is chewing. Don't shoot her and never crate her just to stop the chewing. Her teething is natural and manageable. Just love, care and treat her with patience and kindness. You'll have a great friend for life.

Typical puppy, keep closet doors closed and clothes picked up offer the puppy something to chew on, rawhide bones etc. and scold him by tone of voice and a quick pull on the collar when you catch him. Tell him he is a bad puppy in a tone like you use when your kids misbehave, they will get the point. I have raised dogs for over 20 years the main thing is never leave him unattended, dogs have been known to chew on electrical cords and get electrocuted, this is why I recommend crate training.

Maybe some suggestion that would help is telling her that is a no no and maybe buy her some toys that she can chew on..or some of those hard bones..but make sure to do something now before it gets worst..if that doesn't work then take her to those training classes

Crate your dog when you can not watch her.
She is a baby and they love to chew things up.
Either puppy proof the house or have your dog in your direct line of sight if not crate her.
She will out grow some of this behavior.
Also be sure to give her plenty of chew toys and a variety of them so she does not get bored.

I was told to put Cayenne Pepper or Bitter Apple on the things they chew. Of course you can't put it on clothes. You just have to catch her and hit her on the nose with rolled paper and tell her 'No Biting.' or something along those lines. Whatever you do keep it constant

This is going to sound cruel but rub the dogs nose it what they chewed up and say "NO, Bad (name of dog) and go lay down" say that sternly and show your dog to it's bed. Eventually the dog will stop. That's what my mom did with our dog. Punish your dog like a kid. You tell the child that it's bad and send them to there room. It works

get him some chew toys and distract him from eating other stuff.
or you can buy some bitter apple spray from petsmart or something because when you spray it on furniture or something, when he trys to chew it, it will taste gross and he will stop!
(continue as needed)

good luck!! :)
