My 13 week old Bernese Mountain dog puppy views her crate as her bathroom. Sometimes the puppy will go to the bathroom outside and after returning to the indoors will walk in to her crate and go again. My trainer is stumped on how to resovle this issue so any help would be great.

The woman pointed out that it is not just pit bull breeds being the target of this kind of hateful laws. Our pets are in danger, what would you do if someone wanted to ban the breed your pet belongs to. Did you knoe that the cocker spaniel bite more people than any other breed or that the chihuahua is more aggersive than the large breeds, Miss Hilton is being sued becasue tinker bell bite a policeman. There was a dog fight ring broke up that used chihuahuas. It gose to show that no matter what these people that turn dogs mean will find away for thier blood sprots. We need to stop the humans and banning dogs is not working.

With two large dogs one goes through dog food fairly fast, so I'm trying to find something that is not real expensive but still a quality diet. I have a Costco membership and noticed their "Super Premium Adult Lamb and Rice" dog food today. They also had a Chicken and Vegetables blend. The ingredients looked good - no by-products, etc., but I'm not an expert when it comes to individual food analysis.

Does anyone feed this brand to their dogs? Has your experience been good/bad? Thanks so much!

Why am I fighting breed specif legislation?
The biggest reason is I own a American staffordshire terrier, pit bull. But they are not the only breeds being banned boxers, bull terriers, all mastiffs, chows, dobermans, great danes, rotts, sanit bernard, akita, all husky. If you give up freedom for safety you will get or desever ether. Pit bull owners are not the only pet owners losing thier loved dogs, open your eyes big brother is trying to control our lifes.


Take a look it is only a matter of time before other breeds get this treatment. This needs to stop now. Do not give up your freedom for safety. If you do you will not get ether. CAn you say you even deserve them. Take responablty for yourself and stop asking the goverment to do it. That is what happen in germany in the 30's and look what it got them

I was out bird hunting with a friend,when we came acrost a guy int he woods .he seemed extreemly nervous ,but i just figured he was startled by runing in to two people with guns who he never heard coming . as he walked past us he quickend his pace and then began to run wich i dismised as paranoya.
we contiued our hunt and about three hundered yards past where we saw the guy we fond a dog ( malnutritioned and obviosly severly beaten on multipul ocasions ) chained and padlocked to a tree .
I took out the slug i kept for the off chance we see a bear ( in vermont bear season coencides with the end of bird season) had my frind hold the dog and shot the chain off the tree . told him to head for the car and i took off ad a dead run to catch the S.O.B with full intent of poundin the crap out of him trhen turning him in never did catch up but the dog was brought to a vet and taken good care of and now has ben adopted by a family and is verry loved.
at least i was able to help that much

I bought a pet from a "backyard breeder" and to those that think these dogs are not healthy is just not true. You say illnesses will pop up when they get older but my dog "Buddy" is 4 years old today and has never been ill. He is the best dog and when the breeder breeds again I am going to buy another one as he is such a wonderful dog. I don't regret buying him. You say go to the shelter and get a dog and "save a life". Well I did several years ago and that dog got sick three days later. Took it to the vet and it had pneumonia. I was out of alot of money. Then they found out she had intestinal parasites. When I got that payed for her hair started to fall out and she had scarcoptic mange with the vet said was hereditary. I was out of $600.00 on my "dogpound dog" so if you want get a dog from the pound then fine but I will never do it again. Yeh to backyard breeders as there dogs are not always sick or get sick as people say on this board.

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer my puppie's registration from Conntential Kennel Club to the AKC? I know CKC allows the transfer of dogs from other kennel clubs, but I didn't find that answer of the AKC website and transfering to them.
