Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer my puppie's registration from Conntential Kennel Club to the AKC? I know CKC allows the transfer of dogs from other kennel clubs, but I didn't find that answer of the AKC website and transfering to them.

About me getting conned, I didn't buy the dog for the papers, I bought him for him. I don't really have intentions of showing him or anything. He's a very good specimen of the Pug breed though, so I wanted to try to register him with the AKC in case I ever wanted to breed him. He's a pet not a career.

Unfortunately, you can't transfer a CKC registration to AKC. You can, however, have your dog registered in both kennel clubs, as long as your dog is registered with AKC. If the dam and sire of your dog isn't registered, AKC won't allow it. I hope this helps.

Here is a tidbit of what I found for you...

"III. DOGS WHELPED IN THE UNITED STATES WHEN NEITHER THE SIRE NOR THE DAM ARE AKC REGISTERED

A dog whelped in the United States that is individually registered with one of the Domestic Registry Organizations listed in Section V of this pamphlet may be eligible for registration. A three-generation certified Pedigree issued by the domestic registry organization must accompany the application for AKC registration."

For the rest of this and other Special Registry stipulations, please see http://www.akc.org/rules/special_registry_services.cfm

Good luck to you!

Edit: Are you sure it isn't the Canadian Kennel Club? Get Em is most likely right about the Continental Club...

Sorry AKC doesn't recognize a CKC registration. All kennel clubs recognize AKC but AKC only recognizes its' own.

both parents would have to have been registered with the AKC.
You would have to ask the breeder if the parents were AKC registered and she only registered the puppies with CKC and if they were then YES you can . But if only one parent was NO.
The answer is on the AKC website you just have to really read the registeration forms, etc.
