I was out bird hunting with a friend, when we came acrost a guy int he woods .he seemed extreemly nervous ,but i just figured he was startled by runing in to two people with guns who he never heard coming . as he walked past us he quickend his pace and then began to run wich i dismised as paranoya.
we contiued our hunt and about three hundered yards past where we saw the guy we fond a dog ( malnutritioned and obviosly severly beaten on multipul ocasions ) chained and padlocked to a tree .
I took out the slug i kept for the off chance we see a bear ( in vermont bear season coencides with the end of bird season) had my frind hold the dog and shot the chain off the tree . told him to head for the car and i took off ad a dead run to catch the S.O.B with full intent of poundin the crap out of him trhen turning him in never did catch up but the dog was brought to a vet and taken good care of and now has ben adopted by a family and is verry loved.
at least i was able to help that much

the dogs demenor is a good concern
he was extremly submisive and even the sound of my shot gun barking out a slug didnt start him, he seemed to be verry acustomed to loud noise an i my self was verry suprised to see how well he adjusted and was able to be adopted by a family with children. i was verry concerned that he wold have to be distroyed and checked up on him regularly till about a year after i found him

good for you! You did the right thing and its probably a good thing you didn't catch the guy. We don't want you to be in jail. you should give yourself a big pat on the back. The world needs more people like you.

mr. you are a caring individual,I'm wondering if this person even thought about getting caught and if this isn't his first offense, its really to bad you couldnt remember what he looked like so if this happens again, and in that area, youll have some leads. and if the dog was so bad off, some animals become crazed from lack of food or beating, your lucky you didnt get torn apart,or bitten real bad, next time, follow him and get some I.D. turn him into the Humane society, he's a danger to people also, he has the characteristics of a maniac.

What you did is awesome! I am glad to hear that the dog was able to be adopted, considering some abused animals become vicious and have to be put to sleep! Doesn't it feel good knowing you saved a life?

Thank goodness! An hooray for you! I am just sad that you didn't catch this psycho.

Dogs need more folks like you, animal abuse is everywhere! It sickens me and I strive everyday to help others become better pet owners.

You made my day.
