Why am I fighting breed specif legislation?
The biggest reason is I own a American staffordshire terrier, pit bull. But they are not the only breeds being banned boxers, bull terriers, all mastiffs, chows, dobermans, great danes, rotts, sanit bernard, akita, all husky. If you give up freedom for safety you will get or desever ether. Pit bull owners are not the only pet owners losing thier loved dogs, open your eyes big brother is trying to control our lifes.

Take a look it is only a matter of time before other breeds get this treatment. This needs to stop now. Do not give up your freedom for safety. If you do you will not get ether. CAn you say you even deserve them. Take responablty for yourself and stop asking the goverment to do it. That is what happen in germany in the 30's and look what it got them

Yes, it is not just Bully breeds.

And it is not just BSL, but stupid dangerous dog laws, mandatory spay/neuter, and anti-breeder laws.

Our dogs are being removed from us, ever so slowly, by warm and fuzzy sounding laws that are anything but, by making it harder and harder to own or breed dogs.

If people don't wake up to the threat of the animal rights movement and the ridiculous anti-dog laws being introduced and passed, we WILL NOT have pets in 20 years!

It is really sad, they just put some restrictions but not really a ban on pits in my town, They are making ALL pit owners register their dogs, they ALL have to be Spayed or Neutered, and they all have to have a chip put in them. There are to be no more litters of pits in town, and you have to pay a $50 a year fee per animal to have them. I really don't understand why they did it, there have not been any pit attacks. in fact the last dog attack was 12 years ago and it was by a Rott. Before that the last attack was 25 years before that and that too, was not a pit. I don't agree that there should be a ban on ANY dog. Some of your smaller breeds are just as mean as the big ones. Poodles can be very mean, as can Cockers. Is there a way that people can all get together and stop this stupid banning of our beloved pets? Most of the mean dogs it is not the fault of the dog anyway but how it was raised.

Ah, passion about freedoms, it's good to see.

Treasure these times within 20 years you'll realise that nobody gives a damn if it requires any more effort than changing channels on a remote control. Governments make decisions that suit them and take no account of the people they are suppossed to represent, politics is sham and the entire principle of party politics actually removes personal accountability and responsibility rather than increases it.

In the UK some nutcase shot some kids in a school and the press effectively forced the government into a knee jerk reaction to ban handguns. I don't approve of the easy availability of handguns, but stopping people legally owning and using them in controlled environments isn't going to stop their use by criminals, and nutters can always find other ways of killing people if they so desire. But for our own good the government decided to protect us from ourselves.

It's happened many times since and will again because the apparent aim of governments now seems to be the insidious undermining of personal freedoms rather than the defence of public freedom. Recent terrorist acts and threats has handed all western governments an almost unlimited right to restrict us in the name of restricting them.

Incidentally you might want to read some other descriptions of the cause of the rise of nazism in Germany, the people were in desperate straits due to the idiotic reparations the French insisted upon at the end of the 1st world war. The British and American governments objected but due to public pressure decided not to fight the French government and let them effectively bankrupt Germany for 50 years. In those circumstances with weak leadership the people were ready to follow anyone who provided a way out, which is exactly what Hitler offered. Not exactly handing over responsibility to a Governemt more being offered panacea but not seeing that it could only be gained by giving up something far more valuable - Freedom.

Sorry to start this off by being cynical it happens to most people!

I have 4 Chows and I let them play with my 1 1/2 year old nephew and his 5 year old brother. I am told that they are supposed to be pack dogs and many people are scared of them. I disagree, I have had chows for over 17 years and they have never bitten anyone even when they are pulled across the room by their tails. I am sure there are vicious Chows out there but it seems If they are brought up correctly they are wonderful pets. I also had a Saint Bernard and she two was a loving affectionate dog.

I think that's really stupid bc its not the breed that makes a dog mean, its all in how you train it.
