Dogs - July 2006

Zeik is my 8 yr old Doby. He's a inside dog, trained fairly well. He sits, stays,leash trained,does several tricks,ect. He's like one of our kids! We have 3 kids, not including him, one of which we got custody of about a year ago, she's 9 & loves animals.The problem is (this is a serious question, not a joke) he follows her, not me or my daughter, around with his nose up her butt all day long.He's never been one of those dogs that tries to hump or anything and he's not trying to do that to her, but he WILL try to "nudge her into position". It's freaking us out and we feel bad getting onto him all the time but what can we do? It would break our heart to give him to a relative but we have considered it if we can't make it stop. The vet said neutering him wouldn't help & did'nt offer any other advise. Please help!. It's not fair to either of them! I know he's a "dog" but there has to be something we can do, I hope. Thanks

why did dogs (like are pets) leave their cousins etc just to be with men. They could have been chasing deer and etc but they gave that up to be are pets why

Rotties,Pitts,Dobes, and other dogs that are used to protect people and property are being outlawed,along with our right to keep guns for hunting and protection of ourselves and our personal property. Doesn't it sound like someone is trying to make sure that we are left vulnerable? An implanted tracking device is all that they need to totally take our freedom away.

My dog eats my kittens "poo". I was told by a friend that it's ok because she eats it because there is a nutrient in there that she needs or something along those lines so I just left it at that, but I want another opinion. Can anyone share some input.

my dog cut his paw on a rosebush the other day, but he keeps removing the bandage. i don't want him to get infected, but i can't think of any other way other than wrapping a bandage around his paw (bleeding on the carpet and furniture is also bad). any ideas? ps- tried putting hot sauce on the bandage, he liked it...

My 11 yr old Dalmatian has been incontinent most of her life. The vet put her on Phenylpropanol, but it gradually stopped working. After various tests, the vet can see nothing to cause the incontinence. My house smells terrible but I refuse to put her down for incontinence alone. Any suggestions??

We have lived in this house for 2 years, pets were ok to have so we got an Old English Bulldog. Recently my landlord decided to let his daughter take over and be the landlord, when she saw our dog she asked to buy it. My dog got hit by a slow moving train. Shes still alive but her nerves are messed up. She can hardley ever get up when she falls and has difficultly getting into her bed. Also she has sores on her paws that are very big and bloody. I don't know what to do. do you know how many years she might have left or what I can do to help her. Also the vet said he can't do anything but I don't believe him.

My toy Pom weighs about 4 3/4 lbs,what do you think the chances are of her needing a C section if i breed her?Or do you think she is too small and posibley shouldn't even be breed?Cause im thinking of getting her done soon if im not going to breed.Plus she is just shy of being 1 yr old.

Now she won't eat that she will put her nose up to it,called her vet and he says try another brand with a little wet,BUT to go slowly with the new brand a little at a time with the old,that was all well and good until recently when she has decided that it was time for a new change,it get to the point she lost a lot of weight and she was not eating,she has had all her shots she is a year old and very hyper not spayed as of yet,(i'm planning on one litter with her since she has amazing blood lines)I bought her from a excelant breeder.wHO BREED FOR QUALITY PUPS AND TEMPERMENTS,tHESES ARE SHOW DOGS.Has anyone gone through anything like this with there dogs or any animal that they may have?Please help has of right now the vet is saying to watch her he sees nothing wrong with her she may be just a picky eater.
