This might sound crazy, but our vet recommended Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil. Just spray it on and rub it in a bit. It does help and won't harm the dog if injested. If they eat ALOT of it (as with any oil) they might get the runs, but we haven't had this problem. Also, it smells nice and is inexpensive!

there is a Frontline Spray for your dog... or there are other sprays at pet stores and vets to help with this problem! i would also treat the yard with an insecticide. now if the flies are around his ears (or mainly in that area) i would get 'Scarlet Oil' this is to go on the ears only... if there are any flies around the ears, they can lay eggs/maggots in the ears! the 'Scarlet Oil' kills and helps prevent them from coming back to the ears...
hope all is well and good luck!

your dog needs to be on either frontline or advantix, they will keep fleas, tics, and mosquitoes. if you still have a problem with gnats, try watered down skin so soft.
