They are called Dachshunds. They are so cute, and they make real good companions. I have a poodle and dachshunds mix. Can you imagine, short long body, but curly hair like a poodle. They look funny, but they are so cute and cuddly. I call them Podshunds! :-)

Welsh corgi's or Dachunds.
Corgi's looked like a sawed off shepherd- they are adorable.
Dachunds are weiner dogs.

Daschunds. Or 'sausage dog'. They are cute but if you wish to own one please bear in mind that they tend to suffer from spine trouble in later life cos their backs are too long for their short little legs.

Dachshunds are what you are referrin' to, I believe.
The bigger ''short legged long body'' dog, is a Bassett Hound, just in case you were referring to them instead.

dachshunds (pronounced doxen) is the official name in the AKC but their nickname is "weiner dog". they were originally breed to go into rabbit holes.

I think that the dog that you are thinking of is a Doxin. My great g-ma has one named heidi!!!
