My dog got hit by a slow moving train. Shes still alive but her nerves are messed up. She can hardley ever get up when she falls and has difficultly getting into her bed. Also she has sores on her paws that are very big and bloody. I don't know what to do. do you know how many years she might have left or what I can do to help her. Also the vet said he can't do anything but I don't believe him.

It is hard to say about how long your dog has left. The best thing to do is go to another vet. There are alot of bad vets out there that is why when you find a good one you follow them.

I can't help you too much as I can't see your dog. That is something you kinda need to see for yourself to really say some thing.

I hope you can help your dog and I'm sorry to hear.

That vet should've treated her for the sores by cleaning them, and giving you pain meds & possibly antibiotics to stop any infection that may start or be in there. In the mean time, you can clean those wounds with hydrogen peroxide. Don't put anything topical on them as he will just lick it off and aggrevate the situation.
As far as the nerve damage, I would take him to a specialist. A normal vet can only treat so far, they don't get in to the specialty part. Just like in people how we have certain dr.s that do certain things.
However, I would first take him to another vet to get checked over again, just because the guy you took him to is a vet, doesn't mean he's a good one.
Find out from the new vet about neurologist's for your dog. It sounds like there is nerve damage there.

Get another opinion from another vet. Keep those wounds on the paws clean...and you may need to put a cone on your dog for a few days until they heal because your dog will lick them and prevent them from healing (sore paws may be contributing to dog's walking problems too). Did the first vet xray your dog, did he prescribe any painkillers? Also, if your dog is really not having much fun in life anymore you may not want to put her through all this struggle...you may have to put her to sleep...just think if it were you, would you want to continue life that way? I'm not saying that to be mean...I'm just thinking of the dog's quality of life now. But if you have the money, please go directly to another vet!

Go to a DIFFERENT vet. Any vet who would say he cannont do anything is obviously not very caring of the animals he treats.... Report them to your local ASPCA or animal services. Call the humane society if you're not able to spend a large bill on fixing her, they do the same quality care as your regular vets and can be a bit cheaper. Just, please, take her somewhere to get her cared for before she gets any worse then she already is.

ask another vet.

is she in suffering pain if so puting her down is kindness.

if she is in no pain you can get dog wheel chairs to help her move around like normal. and some sort of cream for the paws would be good (maby savlon) lots of time and care she my be ok

I would go to the ASPCA and say my dog has been hit by a slow moving train and I went to the vet and he said nothing can work. Can you please help me?
