I just got a min pin puppy (6 weeks old) and my roommate already has a pretty stubborn and dominant 3 year old chihuahua. I live in the basement, and have been keeping the min pin with me, she's obviously my baby, and I've been slowly introducing her upstairs to the chihuahua. In the beginning of the visits theres a lot of sniffing and growling, but eventually they calm down. The problem is, I bring the min pin back downsairs, and everytime we go upstaris the dogs act like it's the first time they've met. Should I be leaving them together for days at a time? Or will they eventually remember eachother?

Every time we walk our dog he seeks out and proceeds to drink every puddle of pee he finds, he is normally very obedient, but when he finds pee and starts drinking it, it's like he's obsessed or posessed or something, he will not stop even if I yell at him, I have to physically remove him from it, then he just hunts down the next puddle and starts drinking again, whats wrong with him?, he loves the stuff!!!

I recently adopted a 3 lb brown and white chihuahua. She is 4 years old, dainty, screams when people she doesn't like picks her up, always follows me everywhere. I'm looking for an ORIGINAL name that is cute, trendy, imaginative, maybe something two syllable. I am having the hardest time naming this dog! Please, no suggestions for 'rat, cocoa, shadow' etc, I'm looking for something out of the ordinary that people will say, 'ooh that's a great name!" Thanks for your help.

Growing up, my dogs were never treated for heartworms or given expensive preventative medicine once a month. And my dogs never died of heartworms or parasites.

We just had his teeth cleaned about 3 months ago. His breath was perfect for like 2 weeks then back to smelling like a dead animal. We brush his teeth all the time but cant get rid of the smell. He chews on dental stuff to keep the tartar off but UGH! It's like smelling road kill!! Would it be safe to put like a little bit of like Crest mouth wash in his water dish??

My shihtsu is 16 yrs old, and she pants hard after her daily walks. a fellow dog owner advised me to take her for shorter walks. My usual walk is around 20 minutes. But my dog absolutely looks forward to her walk every night, and i can't bear to deprive her. Should i heed the advice to shorten the walk? Is it possible to overwalk a dog?

Our Westie has Addison's. It was detected after cancer surgery 2 years ago. He is on a daily dose of prednisone(2.5mg) and goes for injections every 28 days. They say he will be on this form of treatment for life. The vet changed the dosage of prednisone to 2.5 every other day. Four weeks later he began to vomit every morning. The vet put him back to his regualr daily dosage.
Any feedback on how you care for your pet who has Addison's Disease would be appreciated.

I belong to the Addison's support group. They have great calanders you can buy to support Addison's Research! You can have you pets photo and birth date included in the calander.
