I recently adopted a 3 lb brown and white chihuahua. She is 4 years old, dainty, screams when people she doesn't like picks her up, always follows me everywhere. I'm looking for an ORIGINAL name that is cute, trendy, imaginative, maybe something two syllable. I am having the hardest time naming this dog! Please, no suggestions for 'rat, cocoa, shadow' etc, I'm looking for something out of the ordinary that people will say, 'ooh that's a great name!" Thanks for your help.

Penelope or Penny for short. I also like Cheddar. For something different, try a people name that is hardly ever used for animals like Heather, Yes, I think Heather would be perfect.

I think you should name your dog Gizmo. It is cute and fits perfectly to a small animal like in the movie Gremlins. Plus Gizmo is very loyal and is also afraid of others to be around his owner but he is also love-able.

most people would tell you to name the dog after something of its origin, like taco or cheech.but if you want something original, id go with something like honey, or darling.not to many people have dogs with those name.for instance, i have a bloodhound that i named duke, because i thought of the dog from the dukes of hazard.he looks just like him.sometimes you can associate names with faces.good luck
