Congratulations!
You set a price range, say from $500-$700. Watch the pups as they mature enough to tell the REAL quality, having little to do with color, but all to do with the breed standard, as recognized by AKC, UKC, CanadianKC, etc.
There will be 'stars' in your litter. The ones that just sparkle and conform to the breed standards the best. Those are the ones to put the higher price on. Your rare colored ones may turn out to be the best or the worst, so it wouldn't be fair to sell one higher JUST because of color.
As you continuure your breeding program, you should always look for the best in the colors you desire, and then hopefully you will be having 'even' litters. (great color AND overall quality)
Breeding for only color is THE most detrimental issue to the breed, as inferior dogs become the norm, all for the sake of color.
Yes, the rare colors are fun, but should never be the determining factor of pricing or breeding.
I have been going through this with my breed. I made the mistake of buying the most gorgeous stud dog, in the most fashionable color....He turned out to be ..1. stupid, 2. develped low thyroid.
If I had looked more into his parent's history, I would have known this, but I was blinded by his dazzle and show record.
Thankfully, I did not use him for breeding, as one female totally rejected him, and I learned of his problems before another came in heat. He is now living on a farm, as a family pet.
Anyway, I would have saved myself alot of money and heartache if I had not been color-blinded.
Hope this helps, and good luck with your puppies.

I have an AKC registered miniature dachshund and I paid $650 for him. The breeder that I got him from charges anywhere from $450 to $650, depending on the quality of the dog.

Well, If they are AKC registered, then you can charge up to $500 dollars for each puppy, but if not you can still charge about $200 a piece. Color and sex can be a deciding factor on choosing prices. A female would be worth more than a male...exc...

Sometimes it depends on color, if it is a rare color combination or something, but most people charge at least $50 more if it is a female (because they could breed her when she's older and such..) Anyway, I love dachshunds!! hope they go to good homes!

actually the males are worth more, because you need the male to get the female pregnant, as for selling them, it all depends if you have papers on them or not ...if you have the papers you can charge more, I hope this helps
