So last night, my curious kitty got into the trash and now her fur is all kinds of sticky and gross. I definitely need to give her a bath but I have no idea how. Do they use special shampoo? do I have to blow dry her fur? any suggestions will be super duper helpful. thanks!

I have had such helpful answers to my other questions I thought I would give this a try...I asked my vet if cats understand the word no (being a dog owner and never a cat) he laughed at me and said no! But I think he's wrong!! If the 1 cat gets up on the kitchen table or counter, (which are the 2 things I won't put up with) If I say in a low deep voice...GET DOWN! he goes. The other cat you can stand there and yell and point to the floor GET DOWN and he will hide his head behind a bag or somehitng like you can't see him. HA! The other cat we kinda make fun of cuz he's so cute but so dumb! we say he is our "challenged" cat.lol! he stares at the wall or cieling at nothing for a long time. Just sits there. ha! god bless the lil guy! We say it's cause he's blonde (like me) ANYWAY.... what can I do to keep them off the counter and table? I tried plastic bags for the noise and they play inside them so that didn't work.I tried foil....nope! I heard to try double sided tape?

My cat begs to come in the bathroom after I have taken a shower. He will sit outside the door and scratch and meow till we let him. He then comes in the bathroom, walks around inside the bathtub for a few minutes, then leaves. Why does he do this?? We find it amusing, but are wondering if anyone can shed some light as to why he does it.

I hurt my back so I haven't been able to keep the litter box as clean as usual, which is few times a day (w/2 cats) and it's only been once a day. But it still isn't that bad. But 2 times the other night my cat pooped on the floor. Is the litterbox not being as good as it usually is the reason?

Ok, my cat got locked in the living room lastnight decided it would be a good idea to crap all over my leather sofa. I have tried everything I can think of without ruining the leather, bicarb of soda, washing up liquid, dettox, but I just cant shift the smell. Does anyone have any suggestions?

10 point to the one that works! Thanks xx

I don't really know where he came from possibly a drop-off or just born outside from an old gutter cat. He bites and scratches us all the time. The only reason I have kept him, I didn't want him to get run over. He was very friendly when he came to my house, but now he is like a Ninja Cat.

So I took my 4 month old Kitten to the vet for the first time on Saturday. The patient before him was a flea infested cat. My kitten just came in for his shots, he has no ear mites and the doctor said he was free of fleas. On Sunday I noticed my Kitten scratching excessively, so I took a look, and low and behold I see something little and black on his neck. I gave him a bath immediately, today I'm going to get flea medicine. Can he really catch fleas that fast, from being in a room where an animal had fleas like that. I'm so mad at my Vet, it was my first visit there.....

I bought one of those lasers and let my cat chase the red dot around. Now he’s obsessed with it and won’t do anything but look for the stupid dot. He just keeps searching for it and its been hours. Is this normal?

When I am around my 4 month old kitten, he meows each time I say something to him. Is he really talking to me in his language, or is he just showing affection? (His mother and brother were caught and eaten by something outside when he was 2 months old, so we have kept him in since then, and he is stuck like glue to me & my husband when we are at home.)

She used to be an out door cat so she got in a lot of fights, Her bottom two canines are gone and have been one for a long time. She's getting on in age so should I change her diet to elderly cats or soft food for kittens because of her teeth. P.S. she has been checked out by a vet... she's fine just getting old and cranky.

I have some family members that want kittens, and I just want to make sure that they become strong enough before they leave their mother.

Some of the animal society places charge such high prices. I am elderly and want a house pet, preferably a male black and white kitten or even an older one that is affectionate! Please send your answers if you can help! I know there must be some places who do not kill an anilmal but will find a home for it. I just had to put my 13 rear old dog down because she was ill and I would like a house pet. Thanks for any help!

He still runs around and plays, so it does not bother him unless you touch it, because it is tender.

My 1 1/2 year old cat has been having diarehea for about a week. I'm calling the vet today, but could it just be a virus or could it be something serious? She's acting fine otherwise. She's eating and drinking regularly? I haven't changed her diet?

She's been acting weird the last couple of days. She's always meowing, but not a normal meow.. kinda like she's in pain. She's also been laying down on her front legs, and standing up on her back legs with her but in the air. When we try and get close to her she sticks it out even more and starts meowing and shaking. Is this normal? She's only 5 1/2 months.

My husband brought this cat home from his rental property where he was left. He was timid at first but has now warmed up yet he still wants to use the couch for his business. I need help to solve this problem.

I have a male kitten who is 6months old. He has not been declawed yet but i think I'm going to loose my mind with him. I have asked on here before about what to do with them scratching the couch and table. I got a post for him to use and actually tied it to the one spot he goes the most. Well yesterday I actually watched him move it out of the way to scratch the table. I dont know what to do. I have tried it all. When he he goes after the couch I move him to the post and show him how to do it and he knows where it is and how to use it. HELP.

My siamese cat has a very bizarre fear. He is afraid of hair tools. He is afraid of hair dryers (while off), hair straighteners, hair brushes, anything. My other cat has absolutely no fear of these things, but my siamese will run, jump, and generally be afraid if he notices hair tools on the ground. Worse yet, he insists on being near my wife when she does her hair in the mornings. He will occasionally viciously attack the hair tools and then run away. He is very skittish around these things. He's a scaredy cat in general... afraid of strangers in particular. But no other object strikes fear in him like hair tools. Bizarrely, we have cat brushes that look like human brushes, but he doesn't have a problem with these.

What is wrong with my cat? Why is he afraid of hair tools, yet he will go out of his way to attack them?

We have been blessed with 3 great cats at different times of my life. I'm about to go to Grad School in the Fall, and am interested in getting a kitten because I'm just not a dog person. What should I look for? I'm looking for a lapcat that'll sleep on my bed, etc., that's social with other people and playful, but knows when to settle down. Any ideas of what traits to look for when looking for a kitten, and where to look? I live in Eastern NC. Thanks!
