My siamese cat has a very bizarre fear. He is afraid of hair tools. He is afraid of hair dryers (while off), hair straighteners, hair brushes, anything. My other cat has absolutely no fear of these things, but my siamese will run, jump, and generally be afraid if he notices hair tools on the ground. Worse yet, he insists on being near my wife when she does her hair in the mornings. He will occasionally viciously attack the hair tools and then run away. He is very skittish around these things. He's a scaredy cat in general... afraid of strangers in particular. But no other object strikes fear in him like hair tools. Bizarrely, we have cat brushes that look like human brushes, but he doesn't have a problem with these.

What is wrong with my cat? Why is he afraid of hair tools, yet he will go out of his way to attack them?

There are a couple of choices that you'll take a look at your self. First, take a look at making use of scissors. Have a well-recognized man or woman aid maintain her nonetheless for you whilst you snip cautiously on the raveled places. If the matts are enormous & compact, you would discover that simply reducing into the matt a bit with the end of the scissors will enable you to drag the matt aside along with your palms, then you'll snip away extra simply. You would additionally take a look at a matt rake. This is a certain steel grooming comb that appears plenty like a gardening rake. It has blades constructed in to the prongs, that reduce via the hair as you comb. I use those on my lengthy-haired rabbits very effectively. If neither of those works, or the matts are very practically the epidermis, then take a look at a few electrical clippers. They are comfortably to be had in unique sizes. I additionally use those from time to time as a final hotel while I simply cannot get a matt out, they usually paintings very good. If you are cautious, and feature any person serving to to maintain your cat nonetheless, it is not likely you can nick the epidermis in any respect. Good good fortune!
