Well according to the law, possession is 9/10 of the law. If the cat doesn't have his name on it. How can your neighbor prove its his? Maybe the cat is yours, after all its in your yard. If the animal rights people came by and saw the cat in your yard, they would say its your cat. hope this helps.....

If you know that it is your neighbors cat it will not be yours, just because it wanders on to your property. If the cat appears not cared for and starving you could rescue it. In both scenarios you are required to inform your neighbor, or you could be in legal trouble.

Of course not. Cats who are allowed out often stray because they are curious and need to know what is in the "neighborhood".. They do not belong to you if you know they already have an owner. If the cat is being abused, then I would do something about it and approach her/him and say if you don't really want this cat, I would love to have it and give it the care and attention it needs.

How could you ask a question like that if you had a pet and it got out and some one found it and kept it as their own pet you would be mad would you so, its not your cat if it wandered into your property.

No it doesn't, cats love to wonder. They will explore their whole neighborhood & eat at other peoples homes, but they still belong to their origonal owners.

Check with the "humane society" . They should know the legalites about this situation. Maybe talk to your nieghbor about it. Who feeds the feline?
