My nephew will be here soon but my sister doesn't seem to trust my cats, she's wary of letting the baby stay in my house. I know the cats might smell the milk and go near, but of course he will be under constant supervision.
Anyone experienced problems with there cats when having a baby around?

Hi
Ok I asked who thinks there are too many out here asking etc.. a few minutes ago.... so far great response.

First.. I am a retired Trauma Nurse, I also have a Zoology degree, work in Wildlife rescue, conservation and manage urban waterfowl
I am obtaining a wildlife Vet degree as well.

I understand how important it is for folks who do not know to have a place to go ask and for folks who do know to take a sec and answer.. I guess I am only frustrated in what I read so much of.. and you cant answer them all and you never heaer back from most as to the outcome of what ended up happening...

My question should have been... anyone else frustrated??? I certainly do not want people not coming out asking and just leaving an animal suffer ..

No offesne was meant at all.. just looking for others who are frustrated is all!
:0)
Thanks
Wismom

My cat is one year old (not neutered). He has peed on my bed three times already in the past four months (and some other places too). His litter box is always clean, but now he's not allowed in my bedroom at all. I can't figure out why he does this and I have no idea how to make him stop. Is it stress? Jealousy? Loneliness? Please help! I really want to keep him!

I live in aloha-beaverton just outside portland oregon. Today, after calling my vet to schedule booster vaccination shots for my cats, the vet assistant told me that they were "up to their ears" in dealing with sick cats with flu or cold-like symptoms. They don't know what it is yet, but now was not a good time to take a healthy pet to the vet becuase of all the sick cats coming in. I called another vet - the Banfield Hospital and they have the same story. Could be connected to the sudden change in weather we are having here in the NW.

So... bottom line, is this almost an epidemic and our best line of defense is to keep our cats indoors for the time being? Forwarned is best armes afyer all.

My co-worker had to put her cat to sleep the other day, it's spleen was overgrown and there was nothing they could do. It was a young cat, about 4 years old? She has another one, too. They grew up together, and now there's a single lonely cat. It's just my co-worker and the one cat now in that house. The rest of us at work were thinking of getting her a kitten as a surprise to both of them. What's good timing-one week? Two weeks? Never?

I'm so stumped. He has big paws (at least for now) and a funny shorter ear. He has a gorgeous face. Affectionate and playful of course.

I am getting my kitten declawed in the mornig, she has gotten just plain out mean with her claws. I am wondering if anyone can tell me an estimate on what her antibiotics and pain medicine may run after this surgery procedure. They are sending her home with both.
Only serious answers please. I am not interested in a bunch of people bashing me for declawing her,. Thank you.

she is a Himalayan with a heart murmur. She eats well but never seems to gain any meat on her bones. She eats mainly dry food but we give her a little wet food a couple of times a day.

Our 5-month-old cat, who was a stray, jumps on and 'attacks' our older 7-year-old cat. We don't know if the kitten just wants to play or not, but the older cat doesn't like it. He is normally very friendly and loving, but he is indifferent to us now. The kitten bites us and the older cat, either as play or just being mean, or teething. We've had him for about 4 months, and he hasn't changed his behavior much. We spray him with water, put him in time out, etc. when he misbehaves, but nothing seems to help. What can we do to get him to stop biting, and what can we do to help our older cat to be normal again? Thanks.

Have an 8 week old male kidden. He is eating Natural Life smashy food and dry normal adult kiddy food. Plus special soy ogranic milk. He loves his food and he eats six small meals over the day. Is this adequatley enough for his growing process? Pet's mart is too expensive and I can't find special food anywhere else.
