Typical symptoms are restlessness, signs of distress, etc. She may move around constantly and not seem able to stay anywhere comfortably. Some cats will stop eating within a day or so of giving birth.

If the queen is crowning (no puns here, seriously!) you may see a head or feet poking out... that's a good sign! If she is laying down a lot, licking the genital area excessively (or attempting to, depending on her size and the location of the little kittens in there) or doing some MAJOR purring, those are all good signs that she is in labor. Don't freak out... she'lll be ok! Have you ever witnessed a queen giving birth before?

She has probably already picked out her birthing nest. If she goes missing for a few hours, check (quietly) in secluded spots around the house. Give her the peace she needs to do her thing. My cat actually rolled over for a sec to give me a glimpse of the babies when she had them! It's all about trust.

If you are real close with your cat she will want to be near you for comfort. you can also watch her belly contract like a human womans belly does. she also might like you to rub her belly gently as this helps relieve her stress and some pain
