I have a 3 year old cat and a 6 week old puppy. Right now my cat just hisses and runs and hides most of the day with her. It's only been like a day and a half since we got the pup. In time do you think they will atleast tolerate each other??

Our kitten is 7 weeks old and has an unusually large belly tonight. It appears as though he is not digesting and his stomach is very hard. He seems somewhat uncomfortable and has been sleeping as his brother plays. Any cause for concern?

My cat pepper is 11 years old. She started socially taking cat nip last year only when around other cats.

I didnt mind at first but then as time went on i noticed that pepper was withdrawn and less social with me. She stopped playing with the neighborhood cats and began hanging out with alley cats.

I found some cat nip behind her water bowl. It was in a little baggy. I guess she thought i wouldnt look there.

I believe that this is a serious addiction and I dont know what to do from here. I dont want to lose my cat to cat nip.

Today after work I snuck up in my backyard to see what pepper was doing and noticed that she and the neighbor cat were breaking up cat nip with their paws and then they snorted it.

I am a cat lady. I love my cats a lot. I have two cats: Lola and Jimi. Now that you know a little about me I'll explain more and ask my question. In the past year we have moved two times (one of which was a 24 hour car ride and the other was a plane ride) and had a new baby. It's been a really crazy year and I really feel it's effected my cats. They used to be outdoor cats and now they are stuck inside all day long. I didn't think it would be a big deal but apparently it is. They have been misbehaving, longing for attention, and standing by the door crying. I don't know what to do! It seems the minute I get one on my lap, I have to change a diaper or wash dishes. A friend of mine came over the other day and asked if one of them was previously abused--and she never was! I feel so bad and I feel like I am neglecting them. They always have food, water, and a clean litter box but I just don’t seem to have time to just pay loads of attention to them. What can I do to give my cats the attention they need? Is there anything to solve the problem of misbehavior and “neglect” issues? Having cats my entire life I realize they pretty much do what they want but I can’t help but feel that they aren’t doing well. Thanks for your responses!

I just recently moved to a new city, and took my dog (a pug) to the vet for a routine check up. The vet informed me my dog had an ear infection, and gave me amoxicillin. I have never heard of this for use in dogs? Is this common and does it work? I have reasons to not trust the vet... I had a bad experience there and will not go back (long story).

Also, what does an ear infection in a dog look like? His ear had a lot of yellow and brown build up. I clean them about once every 2 weeks. The build up comes back after a week or so. It always looked like just ear wax to me. Never thought it was infected. The dog never acted like he was having problems with his ears either.

I got a feeling the vet was just trying to sell me everything he could. He gave my dog a shot and didn't tell me what it was (it was for the infection) and charged for an ear cleaning, ear infection sample, and a whole lot of other nonsense. All the while, not telling me what happened. So, I don't trust him. Thanks

I've recently bought home two of the cutest kittens. The problem is that The two cats I already have seem rather upset about it. The male will not enter the same room as the kittens and the female started Hissing, Growling and spitting as soon as she saw the kittens. The older cats are both nearly 10 yrs old and the kittens are 9 wks old. What do I do to have a happy family.

My cat is due any day now, she is pretty big. Is the problem that she just cat clean herself like she normally does because she is pregnant and huge? I know that fluid will come from her rearend when she is ready to have the babies, but this is from her butt. She has already been de-wormed.

When you take a kitten to get neutered, what are some of the other services the vet asks you to have done on the kitten at that time? I heard someone talk about blood work. Which of these "add-on's" are necessary? How much total should I expect to pay at the vet for the neutering and everything?

Some of my cats have mild gingivitis and I want to fix it now before it gets worse. I've tried brushing their teeth but I find it very hard to do. Is there anything I can add to their food? I'm not sure why they have it as they eat biscuits every day which I always thought prevented this illness. Thank you

I recently put a collar on my cat, and she hasn't worn one in a couple years. I guess it started to irritate her because she's been scratching at it since I put it on her. Now there's these bumps all around her neck and behind her ears. I took the collar off but she was still irritated (because those bumps wouldn't heal)
what can I put on them to help it heal up quick?
