Hello, my name is Fluffies. Many people believe Cat Nip is a non-addictive herb. But I know it's much more. Cat Nip may not be physically addictive, and I know there is much debate over nip-babies. However, Cat Nip is very habit forming, this is my story.
I started using nip at a very young age. One day my brother Clinton told me about this stuff growing in the neighbors yard. It tasted better than orchids, and I just had to try it out. We marched down to the patch where I first smelled the stuff. Together we rolled, and although Clinton claims he never inhaled, I know he did. The fumes intoxicated us, and the oils penitrated our senses. The garden began to spin.
Soon the garden was nothing but dirt and cat fur. The neighbor lady squirted us with water. Cold and alone, the cravings began. All I could think about was the nip, but our free supply was gone.
Clinton and I began to fight, and soon we went our seperate paths. That's when I met Mitzy, a nip-ho like no other. Mitzy informed me about stealing the Nip, and that we could sell it for fuzzy mice and other bling. Before I knew it the DEA had my name on file, and warrents were out for my arrest. Mitzy left me, took all my bling and nip. I had to borrow money from alley gangs to support my habit, and I was deep in debt.
I was stray by winter. I couldn't believe in just two short years I went from being a pampered indoor cat. Sure, I didn't have all the fuzzy mice, cat jax, and tuna I did while I was dealing. But at least I was happy. I missed my humans.
MEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWW I cried. And then I found Paws to Paws: Cats Helping Cats, an outreach center for nippers and cats with criminal records. After completing the program, I found the big Cat Stevens in the sky. I relocated to the other block. I got my life back on track. I work a standard 8PM -5AM job, purring in my human's ear and meowing all night. The pay is good. And I have an excellent 401K.
Unfortunately, Clinton was not so lucky. Durring a nip binge he was smashed by a truck which he had hallucinated as a giant finch. He will be missed :(
Today, after 3 years of Wiskas therapy and Nippers Anonymous, I know there is a better life than Nip. And Pepper can too. Contact Paws to Paws, outreach is located in every major city, usually near dumpsters and fishing docks. Remember, support him before it's too late.

I noticed that some people advised you to take away her allowance so she couldn't buy more nip. Don't do that! Pepper might become a Nip-ho. I've seen those kind before, always purring and meowing at the boycats. They will do anything for the nip. You should call A and E network and see if you can get her on that Intervention show. They will trick her into thinking she's just doing a show about nip addiction, and they will get her some help. Do it now, before you get caught in an endless cycle of codependency and enabling.

Snorting is sure a step or two up from just rubbing against it and rolling around in it. You've got a serious problem all right.
I wish I knew a solution (other than the support found at Catanippers Catnonymous). It does seem that for some cats this is a progressive rather than social/casual habit.
Well, at least there will be 8 more lives to go . . .

I think kitty might need an intervention. Remove her from her friends and surround her with loved ones. Let kitty know that she must stop the cat nip and go to recieve treatment for addiction or no more squeaky mice.. no more whiskas treats. She is out on the streets for good.
She IS fixed...right? The last thing you want is for her to give birth to nip-babies! Oh the horror!

I am so sympathetic w/ this story. Just last year my cat got this disease(yes, it becomes a disease). She had an intervention and has been clean for 1 year and 4 days. We talk when she feels like she needs to snort, but shes doing great! Be supportive of him! He'll pull through!

Oh my, this could be quite serious. You need to contact your neighbor and let them know what their cat is doing and confront Pepper with your concern. If she doesn't listen try putting her in Feline Drug Rehab. Hopefully, she will get better and put her nip days behind her. ROFL!!!

I think you should have an intervention and take pepper to the vet for rehab. hopefully the humane society will get the alley cats and charged with trafficking

Cat Nip is a gateway drug for cats. Soon she'll be into all kinds of things, and eventually she'll take the big CatNap.
