One of the best "talkers" I've ever seen was a mynah bird that a friend of mine had. Now I heard that it's illegal to sell them. True?

I was told that chickens get up and move around at night, so they should have all of the benefits and toys they have in the day time. I have a flock of eight chickens. Does anyone know if they really are active, or if thats a myth? Thanks a lot, and I'd love to know the website you got the info from too!

what sort of treats can i give my cockateil. also what veg and other things can i give him. i have wrote before and i will update you on what happened. i have two cockateils cheeko and honey. cheeko i could not really let him out of his cage i did but got bit all the time putting him back in and he got in a right state so my sister said she would take cheeko as she could give him more time and also as a only bird she could try and tame him. so yesterday i let her take him home. honey was fine. but today i went out for a few hours left the radio on she had pulled a feather out so i let her out all day and have only just put her back in her cage. i didnt want to give cheeko up but my sister has had them before and knows what she is doing. it was best for cheeko. honey is fine she is eatting and flying around sitting on her cage she is not making much noise but i am hoping she will be ok. so to end this i need to know what fruit i can try i live in england thanks

I have had my male cockateil, Prince for 8 years. He was bought from a petstore and learned the "step up" command within 2 days. However, he is very territorial of his cage, will hiss and be mad at people who get near it...even to put food in his cage. When he is out of the cage...he likes attention for just a few minutes..then gets cranky and warning bites. He also is very picky with his food and only eats a small variety of seed from his food dish. I really would like him to be more friendly and I just don't konw how to help him. Any ideas?

My sister gave me her canary back in the early winter and he was generally pretty happy with the move here. He would fly out of his cage and sing alot and sit on top of his perch on his cage and just sing or look out the window. He just finished molting (about a month ago) and he still won't come out of his cage or sing anymore. All I get now are little chirps every now and then. I even put the nature music station on for him to listen to but still barely nothing. Why is this happening and when will he come out of his cage and sing for me again?

Not only does he pluck but he rubs the top of his feathers on the cage if he isn't allowed out. I try to let him out as much as possbile when I'm home but he's a wanderer and won't just stay on his cage so I have to watch him constantly. The vet has to give him shots every month to help w/ his anxiety when I go to work. He is very attached to me. He is a very ahppy bird though otherwise he just want to get his way. What can I do? I want him to be pretty!

I had a question a few weeks ago about tips for an African Grey Parrot I had taken in. He was a wee bit unhappy and feeling neglected and had pulled all the feathers on his legs, back and belly.

I have now had him for 6 weeks and he has a soft down all over his body and tiny red tail feathers coming in (shh don't tell him) he still pulls the odd one now and again, but on the whole is fine.

He seems to be happy, he whistles sings, talks away, barks like the dog and says Ouch!! when he feels tempted to pull, BUT he is a seed addict. He came to me that way.

I can get him to eat peas, pomegranite, pear, banana, the odd bit of corn and a wee bit of scrambled egg or cheese, but everything else gets thrown at me, he wont even try it. I am supplimenting his diet just now to make sure he stays healthy, but has anyone got any tips to get hm to move to something healthier than seed.

Oh if I take away his seed he wont eat - he is that stubborn!!!

The male looks like he digs her, but the chic totally rejects his advances. Sometimes, the female is even hostile towards him. Could she be going through PMS? I want them to be happy together and eventually breed. Is there anything that I could put in the food to get her into the "mood"?

I have lived here for 4 years and never seen these type of birds, they have been circling around the same area everyday for a week or so. I don't know if they are hawks or falcons, I live in northern California.
