Beautiful Bird isn't it?
ECLECTUS PARROT:
There are several subspecies of eclectus parrots and the female feather color patterns in those subspecies vary according to the subspecies, from having a blue breast and belly ( E. r. aruensis, E. r. biaki, E. r. polychloros, and E. r. solomonensis), to having a lavender breast (E. r. vosmaeri) or purple breast (E. r. roratus). Males will also vary from a bright yellowish green (E. r. solomonensis and E. r. vosmaeri) to a dark emerald green (E. r. polychloros, E. r. biaki and E. r. aruensis).

Hello,
The red bird ( parrot) on the ad is a female eclectus.
Check them out on the internet....just type in "eclectus"in the search area , and you will get a lot of info on them. We have 2 male eclectuses....and they are so sweet.
Hope this helped ya.

Female electus I will agree with. You can usually get them for $500- 1000. They are one of the few species that the female is more colorful than the male. The male is a solid lime greenish color. I work with one at my job- she is very very loud and very talkative- her favorite thing to do is laugh at someone when they trip, or wolf whistle as you walk by. She is very hand shy though and only trusts 1-2 people. I do not know if the species is like this or if it is just anecdotal.

You could always call the 800 number of Foster and Smith and ask the name of the bird on their website and to be sure
